  • Look like it could fit, but best to drop down to 25c to be sure it will fit with room to spare.

  • Saw this in the flesh earlier - it's bloody stunning!

Cheers Eamesy! Thanks for the bottle cage, it looks real pretty, if I ever get hold of a decent camera again it'll be included in the next pictures.

Thanks Ed. Marathon Pluses are so expensive that I'd rather go without mudguards than get new tyres but maybe I'll just make sure that there's a good returns policy when I buy mudguards and be careful not to mark them.

  • They are expensive and uncomfortable but impossible to kill, even with landmine.

Check out panaracer pasela in 25c if you're looking for a good all round tyres.

  • I've gone for this bike rack:

And when the winter comes again and I can justify the price I will be going for those shiny tokyo fixed mudguards.

I've been taking Joe out and he rides like a dream, so silky, so easy, so fast. The only problem is doing the 60 second run to the offie and spending 5 mins locking him up outside.

It's only reading this after 2 weeks that I think I understand what you mean. I already have brand new Marathon Plus tyres that I paid the best part of £50 for. I could try and sell them but only at a loss- I proper can't justify spending another £50 just to get mudguards to fit.

I thought maybe I would contact the folk at Tokyo Fixed and ask them if I could return if the mudguards don't fit.

As a general update: the bike is riding really nice n fast, it's now got itself dirty. My derailleur is too short for my rear cassette/block (?) so I have problems with my lower gears but I'll settle with it till I wait for an upgrade some time in the future. The white handlebar wraps are now grey and the rack is on and looking nice. When I get mudguards I'll clean it all up and take some proper photos for you lot. You're right about the cable routing, of course, but I'm going to wait for a general overhaul before I reroute.

I am still trying to decide on a more sensible colour for my wraps.

The best thing about the bike is the camag Athena hubs, they've kinda formed the soul of the bike and make everything feel gorgeous.

My main problem has been working out how to carry my HUGE locks around- it's a big Kryptonite New York and a smaller D lock. I've had back pains and fucked my old rucksack. I've settled on carrying them on my rack but it makes me nervous on all these London potholes and speed bumps.

  • Have you considered getting lock holsters?

  • Evo Mini plus small Carradice saddlebag.

  • The bike look real pink and very spinny today.
