  • The routes database is page 1, post 2.

  • If in doubt, always head uphill. It won't always be the right way, but it will be easier retracing your steps when you do get lost.

  • ^^Jesus christ I forgot about that, thanks.

  • ^^^ that could be the one I mean, though I suspect I would have been more sedate than you. Funnily enough I thought I saw you today, but heading in the opposite direction (Ranmore first, for the purposes of this route).

^^ there's a disused railway line between Cheddar Gorge and a nearby station that has some corkers. Went through them on the way to my stag do. Can't remember the name of the line. Upstart may recall better.

Maybe. Was doing a sedate GRPT clubrun, joined the TNRC route from a bit after Effingham Jnctn, but then went straight over the A25 at the bottom of Whitedown, up Abinger, up the shallow side of Leith, round and down Coldharbour, past bottom of Ranmore but on to Box Hill instead. Things got a bit more frisky on the return leg towards Epsom :D

I was in a 'Not Sky'™ gilet and riding an off-silver coloured road bike. Did you just stick to the TNRC route?

  • Weather isn't looking too pretty for tomorrow evening.

  • Nah, it'll be fine.

  • Maybe a bit chilly.

  • Probably a bit slow as well.

  • But ignore the rumours of rain, we have that covered.

  • :')

  • out.

    family duties.

    have fun.

  • Come on people! Take the plunge :D

  • Looks like drizzle forecasted all day/evening - lovely. Think I'm still in if there's a quorum, at some point this year I'm going to have to tackle a hill, might as well be today.

  • I'm still in, I think, got to start riding as I have done nothing other than my commute so far this year.

  • I'm still in. There will always be good reasons to skip a ride, bit of rain is not much bother.

  • I'm still in! and I'll try drag the housemate

  • I'm not pissing the bed unless it starts pissing with rain. In, essentially.

Am on heavy old winter bike though so likely de facto backstop

  • This looks like a quorum - 19:02 train at Waterloo then. Think I can confidently lay claim to backstop honours - those hills are going to hurt. On gears tonight given the sad absence of my Pista.

  • if we have more than 4 I can always 16-25 railcard the journey as well

  • In. Singlespeed. Will meet you at Effingham St.

Need a ride to get back into things after mostly running. Cloudy/Sunny out my window in Walton On Thames. Fingers crossed it stays.

  • Cheers Matt - train gets in at 19:45, we'll probably be faffing around across the road on a comfort stop for a few mins if you are running late.

  • I'm still in, will compete with upstart for backstop position. See you at Waterloo about 18:45?

  • Time for a groupsave list?

    19.02 Waterloo

    1. upstart (though can use Network railcard if we don't divide neatly into 4s)

That would be the sensible thing to do, I expect most people to be there around 7:02!
