Black ice or horizontal rain?
-
• #203
BTW. Is this the route with White Down?
That made me feel odd last year. -
• #204
Yes, but you go up the easy way and down the hard way.
-
• #205
I remember a ride with 3 climbs including White Down, end of the season I think. Was hard work.

different route. that was a Des special, and one of my favourites from last year. cracking pace from the top of whitedown to the pub.
I rode the same way Des' ride took us (via whitedown) into EJunct 2 weeks ago. The road surface is terrible. pot holes the size of garbage bins.

• #207
Pot holes with ice in the dark while descending? I'm in.

Is this ride going to utterly rinse me? I'm ashamed to say I've never been on a Surrey TNRC.
I will bring gears.
-
• #209
You'll be fine. Do it fixed!

Skully, I need to talk to you at some point about a 4-up fauxdax idea I had, one way, flattish, tailwind, groupsave train return. Need to contact the other personnel too. Don't watch this space, unless I happen to continue using it as a private messaging utility.

Think I'll bring my fixed, it has mudguards and bigger tyres.
But most importantly I can walk in the shoes.:-)

London Road Club do something like this, they buy cheap out and back tickets to somewhere like Bath, meet at the station and depending on wind direction ride out and train back or train out and ride back.

Bully for them.

It usually rinses me. Half way round I want to stop. Always glad I did it.
Take gears.

Bath is a good starting point for some potentially interesting rides.

We going to see you out on the blacktop this season?

All TNRC'ers welcome round my gaff for a spin and a beer when I'm settled there :)
-
• #224
if you can still see after shining it in your own face it's not sensible enough.
Best peice of advice on TNRC lighting ever.

Besides, we will be down on greek Adonis types, what with Ben out of the country. (Subsequently, there may also be less female company this year).
slips a tenner
I just had a tiny peek at the weather forecast, after something Simon said. Oh. Am going to ask them to change my HTFU order for rubber sheets - I think I'll have more use for them.
