Hi all,
I have a Vitus 979 frame which unglued recently. I have used it for more than 3 years, and loved it! It is a fantastic frame, light and very fun to ride it.
Does anyone know if it possible to fix it? I mean to re-glue it together? The seat tube is unglued from the bottom bracket, seems quite a common thing of those frames...
Hope someone can help me. Thanks! -

Literally you can glue it back together using arakdite its an epoxy resin, Google it, main thing is to clean the joint thoroughly. I think the one I saw held in place for a few days using tensioned duck tape or similar. Also as you say the best place for it to fail is at the BB

My dad had the same problem with an Alan frame. A friend re-glued it with 2 component glue for aluminium. Indeed he fixed and pressed the lugs for days. You can give it pressure by using a piece of hard foam and clamps.

Heres mine bought at weekend cleaned stripped inspected for cracks and new transfers added along with a few new parts , rides like dream , the original glue wasnt as strong as alot of air dried apoxys are today so most industrial glues will do the trick! it was in a right state neglected to take a before photo ! but with patience and lots of elbow grease they come up well !

Great, thanks for the message, let me know. Keen to replace a stolen friend and sounds like this would fit the bill perfectly. Cheers
