I think I would not ride this bike, just hang it on the wall with proper lighting and just admire it in the evenings.

Just wasn't going in the hole without some lube! again - respray tightened everything up & i didnt want the seatpost to look (to quote something brilliant i read the other day) like it had been raped by Megatron

I know you've already done it, but just a word of advice for anyone who has to do the same.
When needing to break something in such as a seatpost pin when the paint is thick, take a hair-dryer (for 20 seconds or so on the paint) and then very carefully follow the circle round with a needle, this will weaken the paint where you'd most like it to crack.
A lot of NJS frames are candy, meaning they are either silver then painted over with the desired colour, chromed or walnut treated, so when you chip the paint, usually a big chunk comes off.

Very wise advice - the above wasn't done by myself, but I can only guess it was done trying to do the exact same procedure previously. I used a bit of light brute force and was lucky, had James shared his wise words earlier I would have been sure to have sought such an alternative- cheers James!

Interestingly, on the discussion of polished dropouts, i found this just before, from the original paint of a Nag:

yum. I think I missed what wheels - please some DA high flange hubs?
-
• #69
Everyone has DA high flange hubs though!....... Would definitely be the easiest and cheapest option.....
I think I have my heart set on Suntour Superbe Pro NJS, de stickered
Or maybe even the slightly older Subtour Superbe NJS
Perhaps even Sunshine Professional NJS but the latter may be a little too vintage....BUT I won't buy any unless I can find a very very good condition set
Either way they're going to have BAGS of flange...

I looked long and hard at the Suzue, think they're just a bit too bling for me/I'm not cool enough...

Tonights instalment: another greasefest
The Phil grease smells so good i could eat it.....
Think im going to follow a bit of a Sugino route so after removing the Hatta R9400 (which is for sale here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread101603.html) I slotted this Sugino 75 Superlap home....
