  • We also drove in a massive tour bus on this one to Kalikratis. The tour bus does it once a week, other than that it's just shepherd's, vultures and golden eagles up there. More info here https://cyclingcreta.gr/the-climb-of-kallikratis/

  • Thanks for letting me see what the view might've been. I climbed up to the top of Electric Mountain a couple of weeks ago. I was inside a cloud the whole way. Visibility must've been 20m tops.

  • Big bastard climb, but nice views.

  • Definitely. But you have to say where it is too. That's the rules*.

*I might have made that up.

  • Sounds like a good rule, though.

It’s the road on the way to Inversnaid in the Trossachs, taken yesterday afternoon.

  • I thought I vaguely recognised it.

I went to Inversnaid by road when I was a kid, so something like 45 years ago. We lived in Helensburgh so it took ages but as the crow flew was probably less than 15 miles.

  • Ahh, that’s cool! I’ve only ever been down that road once before on a road bike, about 10 years ago when I first moved up to Scotland (and I only remembered because of RideWithGPS personal heatmaps).

I also forgot how steel the climb is back out of Inversnaid, and this time I had the pleasure of doing it fixed :/

  • We had a Morris 1000 traveller and I can vividly remember the engine roaring as my dad forced it back up the hill. I wanted him to stop so we could have a good look at the river/waterfall, but he wouldn't.
