This is the road to Lysebotn in Norway.
The weird looking loop is where the road spirals inside the cliff wall.Owing to how bastard steep it is and the fact that it's nestled in a glacial valley, it's quite hard to get some up close pictures of it. This one gives an idea though.
This gives a good idea though.
Alas, as I had knackered my knee riding a 1200k the week before getting there I couldn't ride the road.

I should also add that the road there from Valle is a sweeping, rolling wonder that would be an absolute delight to ride along.

Posted once by ed doesn't really count as most reposted lad. Plus added context as well makes it justifiable. Besides, such an awesome road deserves multiple mentions.

A grab from the China wing suit vid linked above. But this road looks ridiculous.
Anyone up for a forum Skando trip to ride these amazing Norse roads?

So lets do it.
Looking at Norway weather we need to be looking at next year, May earliest.
Long weekend or a week?
Be good if we could string a bunch of these big roads together. I need to have a good look at some maps.
B&bs for 5 nights, plus flights, plus oversize luggage for bikes, plus transit looks to be around £1k. And I guess factor in £300 for food and sundries.
That's not a ridiculous amount for a week of stunning riding.
List?

Might be cheaper to put a van on a boat and drive it around. Camping or hosteling as necessary, plus you wouldn't have to worry about snapping your crabon frame and (easy here) there's the possibility of rider support (a dead rider driving the can behind the group).
For a long time I've wanted to test this concept... Nissan navara with a 4x rack would be perfect.... Anyone got 20k?

£300 for food and sundries in Norway? Are you only going for 48 hours?

Reposed. Problem with driving seems to be the ferry from Newcastle to Bergen stopped running years ago....
