Lauterbrunnen Valley nr Interlaken, Switzerland. There is a road up via Wengen then single track off-road to the Eiger Glacier / Kleine Scheidegg, its epic and climbs to over 2000m, part of the Jungfrau Mountain Marathon, my legs were screaming for me to quit running in 2006.
All of Lauterbrunnen is so beautiful. I was there last July, great area for walking, some of the roads were amazing. Tempted to take my bike there at some point.

They fecking love tunnels up here.
The roads are too narrow, and built with such poor foundations that they start collapsing after a few winters. But spending time and money drilling through a fecking mountain. Yes, thats doable.
Makes doing uber distance on a road bike tricky. You're not supposed to cycle through the long ones.
Do they have the similar in Sweden? The GF is from there and we keep talking about a trip up north... I'm increasingly tempted to take my bike. She's from Skåna so not much climbing to do around there.

I just realised my dynamo light have an auto-on function that turn on the moment I hit a tunnel.
Norway starting to look even better...

much of the road from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. i was sat on a coach wishing so much i was on a roadbike
hard to find good pictures but it's fantastic winding up the hills, in sections has zigzag hairpins. and the vegetation is such a deep, bold, uneuropean green -

Did anyone find a profile for the Stavanger climb? There's nothing on climbbybike.com.

Not nearly as many tunnels. Lovely country. Lots of trees.

Last summer I unexpectedly rode into a newly completed tunnel that they'd just rerouted the road to. I was putting the hammer down on a long slight downhill, in dark sunglasses, when bam, lights out.

Cheddar GorgeI preferred the climb, Burrington combe:
http://www.thecyclingmayor.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/start-of-Burrington-Combe.jpg
Hit this at around 2am on the Exmouth Exodus last year. About a 15 minute climb in the pitch black and silence, just the huge walls of the combe for company.

Some gorgeous roads here. Can't be arsed to UTFS for a road a/p thread. If such a thing exists Glenthorne road in Hammersmith would be my pick. No picture as it looks crap and too busy dodging potholes and botched road repairs to take one.
