uhh, so much vitriol, it was never my intention to derail this thread, and I apologize to the seller for kicking it off. i just wanna say that he asked for offers, and I gave one, citing a frame repair as reason for a small discount. maybe doing it via pm would have been more sensible in hindsight, anyway we all agree it's a beauty of a frame, and a queen of a fork crown....and easily worth the money

good one!theres some info on my previous fs thread,which also links to i think benjybars thread of whom i bought it and he links it to hippys thread,who brought it from oz.it was stickered back then,but i remember that that was not the actual builder.its a nice frame,enjoy it!
I enjoyed it (A lot) the short time i had it. It is a really nice frame. Almost felt too nice for me to use. Lost money, But nice to keep it on the forum - and i've got the money i need for my alternative build. Cheers everyone.

It's not going to 'snap'...or fail drastically...thats aluminium...Ok?
Steel...is different...it fails slowly...it doesn't just snap...(well it can tho and it requires other shit that this to do it...) and in this case...where it is...with no stress across the weld from a shear...it's fine. period. talking about 'force' in this example is tat.
So...180 for that frame is a damned good price...even without the forks...so if it really matters that much...buy the fricking frame and then get some new forks...sexy frame with new forks for 240...end of....or get ted to replace the steerer...he did a pair of chrome pug ones that were a bit rare and he even managed to keep the chrome from blueing up....from the look of the repair and the dip in the braze it looks to have been sleeved anyways...which means its fine.
The lugs on the frame, the campag track ends and the fork crown leans toward it being good quality...not incredible but good...so stop bitching about the price!
If it was...suspect...those of us that knew something about anything...would have moaned already...
So please stop writing spurious crap about 'oooh...it looks a bit dodgy...'
