Went to see this gorgeous little thing yesterday, hopefully she will be coming to live with us after the home/boat visit next week. She has such a lovely, good natured little cat. Fingers crossed we get to keep her.

Yup, Dizzy is the same. Just can’t be bothered most of the time. They’re very chilled cats

He’s a fine looking fella, good on him. I worry about mine as Coonies often have heart conditions due to inbreeding (her father died of heart failure aged 9) and they don’t live much beyond 12 years anyway. Diz is 10 next March, eek

Couldn’t disagree more in my experience. Good breeders don’t allow any kind of close familial ties . Our last two Maine coons lived much longer than that . Our white boy ( and whites are thought to be the most prone to issues ) was 19 when we lost him and his brother 17.

Do you know how much your Maine Coons weigh? Fabric is 3.2kg....your cats have probably had bigger shits!

Really? Two of my ex’s coons died aged around 12 which is why I looked into it. I very much hope you’re right.

Crazy cat person or awesome paint job.

The big silver tabby weighs about 13 kilos my black smoke about 10 or 11 and our kitten is about 8 kilos . Most domestic cats have matured fully by 18 months. Maine coons don’t stop growing until they are 4 or 5

It’s like a zoo in my house. Our food bill is huuuge. That’s one of the many negatives
Amongst things like not being able to get into bed if two of them are asleep on it . Being woken at 5 in the morning by all 3 of them when they are hungry. Half eaten squirrel under the bed , and dead wood pigeon in the food bowl.
Not to mention the small dog flap blowing a gale in the kitchen . -

But soooooo cute.

Oh yeah they are fucking awesome .
And I kid you not one of our neighbors called the police cos she thought she had seen a lynx on the big green on our estate.
And they really are gentle giants, providing you aren’t wildlife that’s potentially edible. -

Just letting you all know that the 2 kittens have been rescued, and are now at The Scratching Post.

Great success! Did they mention anything about seeing the mother?

Aw good. I was thinking about them when it was pouring rain at the weekend and hoping they weren't still outside.

No, so I got a couple of emails, one saying they that they'd been but they couldn't find them, then another very shortly after saying that someone had brought 2 kittens in from the same area and just asking me to confirm that the other one was black with ginger spots.
Ginger Tom near the chip shop... Always a delight....
