  • Good luck!

  • This guy lives the sweet life at my parents' house.
They call him "Paw" because when he moved in he looked like the neighbours cat, except for the white spots on his paws.

  • House is being sprayed right now. Cat is still covered in fleas :(
Stuff from the vet didn't work.

  • Sorry to hear you are still having problems.

Have you tried giving her a bath with soapy water?

  • I was thinking about shaving her. Soapy water doesn't seem to work on my, why would it work on a cat :S

Also, they came saturday and sprayed the house. Just got bitten again.

  • Sad boye is sad

  • But very pink

Diagnosed (and now being treated) for diabetes, the pancreatitis and infections have all cleared up, and he is finally purring and eating again.

  • Poor old Ron

  • maybe the cat with fleas has a friend who it hangs round with or a house that it goes into that is covered in fleas
so everytime it's treated it just catches a fresh bunch from somewhere else

  • cat with fleas doesn't go outside.

  • Balcony cat likes pak choi.

  • Hey, does anyone here, London based, happen to have some kind of serious cat grooming clippers I could possibly borrow for a few days?

My fluffmonster has started getting bit knots of matted fur on his belly in the hot weather and my little clipper isn't cutting it (lolol), and not sure I want to spend £60 for some serious ones to find they aren't much better.

Happy to collect and bring back.

  • We swear by the mighty furminator, only comb/brush that our cats will let use.

  • Moving abroad and employer (who is also arranging housing) says no pets. We'll be abroad for a couple of years but really don't want to give him away permanently. What options do we have? Any?

  • Different job?

  • Tell your new employer that's not an option.

  • This.

  • That was option A however... the job is an absolute lifechanger - hence why I haven't already told them to shove it.

  • WTF tell them to find somewhere you can take pets. I moved abroad for a job and was put in temporary accomodation for a month and it wasn't a big deal for them to find a place I could take my cat.

If they are expecting you to abandon your pets they sound like a horrible employer.

  • If you really have to leave cat behind see if a friend would take. My sister adopted her friend's cat when the whole family moved to France. Thought it would be a couple years but it seems pretty permanent now. Cat and former family have sporadic Skype contact.

  • Took cat to vet today for usual vaccinations and also to get prescription flea drops as there was something crawling around on him the other day...

funny moment at the vet when he goes "hold him down gently by the scruff of his neck while I squeeze his anal glands, he might freak out".

Cue normally docile, friendly kittycat screaming and trying to bite the nearest person.
"Yeah, I'm just going to leave that for now".

    lol.

  • We've all been there, one way or another.
