The cat is not talking to you.....

Check the poop to make sure no blood, but as others said cooked chicken bones can be an issue, there was a picture up thread of a chicken bone that had been removed from a cats jaw/teeth.

Well if mine is anything to go by, they get stuck in their throats and have to be operated on to remove it. How I found her at the shelter all those years ago.

@Miss_Mouse how is Moses today?
@dicki hope your puss is okay?

smaller uncooked chicken bones should pass through your cat with ease. cat piss is lethal for a reason and it's not like they have staff to debone their pigeon supper if they were feral.
edit: late to the party.

He slept it off. Totally fine now. I did watch him like a hawk for three days and read All The Posts on All The cat forums. My sis sent me a reassuring text too.

A good night in bed with someone who is taking care is always a good thing.

Anything wrong with staining my cats white fur around his mouth and claws with beetroot juice as guest of honour at my halloween party?

Doubt you will ever see it. It will probably be hidden away somewhere licking itself clean!

Good to hear. I expect you are now spoiling him even more than usual.
I have been dive-bombed by Sam for the second night running. Not just a usual paw in my face to try and wake me (even though he has food, wants for nothing) but a huge, forceful jump on top of me, so that I can get up, and keep him company whilst he eats, before he goes out again.

Figaro is showing signs of enjoying life these days - he used to be aloof and unsociable, but now tracks us down and rolls around purring.

Turn volume up for purring. -

Since the demise of my beloved cat, the mice have again taken up residence in our old house. Alfie was great at keeping them at bay as they'd wonder in and get slaughtered straight away. A couple of mice were foolish enough to build a nest in our house. I came down one morning and there was mummy and daddy mouse and 6 little baby mice lying in a pool of blood and gore on the kitchen floor.
My hand may be forced and I may need to get another cat in the New Year as mouse traps and poison hasn't got rid of all the little fuckers . Not sure it is fair having a kitten around 3 year old twins though, perhaps I should get an older cat -

Kittens will adapt to kids easily enough, and vice versa - Older cats may not, and end up doing a runner or leaving dirty protests everywhere.

Requires patience.
Our big cat used to run away screaming from the new kitten. Now they both kip at the end of the bed every night, not 20-30 centimetres apart.

Sam was being driven nuts by the fireworks last night and was acting really oddly and kept going to sit in the (empty) bath. Then I realised that although he is an indoors/outdoors cat he didn't want to go and and was looking for the litter tray which usually gets put out for him during snow, (even then he prefers to go out).
So the litter tray was quickly assembled and used (I didn't have any cat litter so used the cut paper from my shredder which worked fine). Result one happy cat, one smelly litter tray.

Regret has a face
Oh dear Lord, don't tell me my cat is depressed...?
Seriously though, I don't think he's upset or stressed or been fighting and he's still got a huge appetite. It's just a bit strange!
Will see how he is in the morning and take it from there.
EDIT: think it's laryngitis :(
