We've spent a small fortune on cat toys.
Their favourite? The triangle that you can fold an empty crisp packet into. -

How long did it take you to teach them that!?

Ha. They're crap at it, I think it's the lack of thumbs

We got a Roffie robofeeder when we away for a weekend but it’s so handy it never got put away. Easy to set up, seems to just work.

@Velocio if I had young cats like that again I'd definitely try Charles Mingus' Cat Training 👍

We have a C3000. It works fine, nothing to complain about really. If you prefer to be really precise with doses, then one of the swivelling ones may be better, but you trade off by only being able to load 4-5 meals at a time.

For our second cat who requires twice daily medication, I've had a to bodge together both a swivelling feeder and a Surepet microchip feeder. The microchip one keeps the other cat out, and each tray of the swivel feeder has her meds in a nice tasty pill pocket. I'll have to take a picture sometime, but at the moment it works a treat and has allowed us some freedom back without risking her missing regular meds.

Thank you, you cheered me up.

This is how much hair I get from Celeste during her daily brush (apologies for the weird blue light, I don't actually live in a morgue). It's quite astounding.

My cats have both become incredibly cuddly since we moved house. Meabh has always liked sleeping intimidatingly close to me but she'll now nap on my chest during the day. Celeste famously hospitalised me when I tried to pick her up to put her in her carry case but now will sit on my lap and purr. It's a lovely development and I don't know what's brought it on (maybe they didn't like my ex?), but I'm very happy about it!

sleeping intimidatingly close to me
My sister's cat is quite large and likes to sleep on my pillow next to or partly on my face. It's a bit unnerving to wake up to in the night. But I kind of like it.

Dizzy has hurt her paw or leg again, we noticed she was limping so I put some fresh food out for her and my wife held her back so we could watch her trot. It doesn’t look too bad but we’ll keep an eye on it.

Cat feeder is a game changer. Pet ownership AND staying in bed in the morning? I don't mind if I do!

He's taken to sitting on the keyboard of my flipped WFH Surface Book. Seven times I had to get him off this yesterday, seven f-ing times

Weathers turned so Bruno is back in the house more often than not. Summer months it’s not unusual for him to be gone for weeks at a time..we’d see him when out walking the dog but the bugger would not come back

Leeloo doesn't quite fit in this box. Reuben just watches on with the 4 braincells he possesses.

Our kitten will pay fetch for hours with these things - he chases after them, plays with them for a while then brings them back for you to throw again. Very cute. Found 10 under the sofa the other day.
As someone else said, a litter tray with high sides or an enclosed top is a must. When they're bigger they'll fling litter and shit across your floor for about 20 minutes non stop unless you tell them to piss off so the high sides help contain it. IME anyway
