Looks like a seriously depressing Amsterdam brothel.
"Hey, do you want the full, working late, stressed-out businessman experience"?

A month with no tag? Maybe new rules and a rethink is needed to get it going again faster..
-
• #1281
Maybe enlargen the area so out of towners can play...maybe to Greater Manchester.
-
• #1282
it just needs more people to be bothered to play.
Within the M60 is a pretty large area.

^ this.

I thought about going to get the current one today but it's just started raining #fairweatherbiketagger
-
• #1285
It's pretty easy to figure out where it is too if someone doesn't mind getting soaked...

I was going to suggest making the area a little smaller in a bid to try and make the locations easier to know/find out. I don't have the best geographical knowledge of Manchester, particularly as you leave the city centre, but I'd be more inclined to get more frequent tags if I had any idea where they were!

Reducing the area will also reduce the amount of people who wish to partake. Increasing it to include Greater Manchester will (in theory) increase the amount of people who want to have a go.
Reducing the area will make it more exclusive, the areas you guys use is already small and is stalling regularly - this might be down to the fact that it seems (but I may be wrong) there's only 5 regular taggers.
-
• #1288
increasing the area increases the chance that people wont know where the tags are, meaning more will sit unclaimed for ages at a time. That's why I've avoided doing any tags up near my house (Prestwich) I know most people wont have a clue where they are.

Fair enough, maybe rule change? Not sure how that'll encourage more people to give it a go though.
I'd like to join in more as I'm usually able to get them from google ninja moves, but it's too far. Prestwich is doable so is Rochdale, Milnrow etc. the city centre is just a shit ride in for me.

Anyway the new one is in Salford if that helps to get it moving again.
-
• #1291
There is even less chance of me getting one if they're somewhere weird to the north of town, Salford confuses me enough.
-
• #1292
I think I know where is the new one. But now its too dark/cold/wet for me to take a longer commute

I know where this one is too, I think.
My tuppence-worth:
When there is momentum (i.e., between regular taggers, or within a couple of miles of the city centre or south Manchester, where a few of us seem to live), the moment a rider places a tag further than a couple of miles out, however easy to work out/find, the game stops dead...
Alternatively, because the same two-or-three riders might realise they're/we're hogging the game, although we might know where the tag is, we don't want to claim it right away because we're aware that this might be a turn-off for riders who haven't yet become involved in the game.
I enjoy the game most when there is competition; plenty of potential taggers, but this usually means the tags are quite close together. This also usually involves good weather and plenty of light. The game does tend to slow this time of year because the majority of us are pussies who don't ride in cold/darkness/rain, haha!
IMPORTANT! If you find a tag but miss out on claiming it because you're slow to post (TAGZUMP!) don't be disheartened; post it anyway because you've still contributed to the game! -

Photographed the old tag last night, but my phone died the moment I tried to shoot the a new one.

Grrh! Feel free to claim it in the meantime because I'm at the track tonight. -

1 week with no answer - half a postcode?
ie. Dennis's meat not murder or whatever it was woulda been M1. (I think). Gives a small enough area to make it feasible to ride around madly in circles chanting war cries til it turns up.

It's in Salford, easily worked out by googling the name on the statue.
-
• #1298
^, or google 'Salford statue'; there are plenty of images of it to help you find it.
Tried again yesterday but my phone AGAIN died at the point of taking a photo (before coming back to life in McDonald's on Oxford Rd.. Don't think it likes thigh heat. -

Current one is city centre really even if technically Salford, I just sort of forgot about this thread really

What do people think about introducing a new rule? Once a person has found a tag, the new tag must be roughly within a mile of the old one. People who are really keen to join in only need to go to the old tag and have a cycle round for half an hour or so to have a good chance of finding it.
Would have got me off my arse and on my bike a few more times.
Not on the 1st floor. Up there they make Chinese food.
