i"d say scousers are fiercly proud of their city, i"d say more mancs & Glaswegian leave. They call it the republic of Liverpool.
It may be more that Scousers are over represented outside of Liverpool due to the larger then life persona and the fact they are often the loudest voice in the room.

They call it the republic of Liverpool.
They also call Manchester "the Peoples Republic of Mancunia" and Sheffield "the Republic of South Yorkshire".
I think great civic pride is quite a Northern thing. -

i"m from the West, so from my perspective, alot of Southern shandy drinkers, hate the fact the Football giants are from the north west, i lived in Manc & found the people there really down to earth. Scousers do seem a scapegoat, what do people have against tracksuits, la.. -

I must admit my lack of objectivity...
I'm a Manc and as such have been brought up with all of the Scouse stereotypes re-enforced at every available opportunity. -

Ginger menace? oh you mean Celtic blood, alot if Liverpool have Irish connection, what are you? Anglo Saxon in otherwise German.
Ginger = Celtic heritage is a common misconception.

I have felt more of an outsider in Liverpool than any other city I have been to in the country. It felt very homogeneous with a bit of a 'you're not from around here are you' vibe.
Saying that nearly every scouser I have ever met I have liked.
Saying that I fucking hate LFC.

I think great civic pride is quite a Northern thing.T'was the Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire when I worked there.
Admittedly we were threatening to climb out of our holes in the ground to bring down the government of the day.
1984 etc. (Scargill not Orwell)Still God's Own County to expats though.

Lots of wankers in this thread talking pure bigoted balls. Just sayin'.
Which is surprising for a forum with such an appetite for sickly, righteous political correctness.
Liverpool is an amazing city with plenty to offer. Though for thick, classist cunts it might be easier to just go on threadbare stereotypes and late '80s Harry Enfield jokes.
To quote someone who is conspicuous by his absence:
