OK, i'm thinking more with turning up to polo and if they've paid for lights if we used them. All the payments would be handled off site but it would be a useful way to keep track of things. Could you give the person who started the thread tools to manage who has attended and/or paid?

It's a nice idea, but it feels overkill.

I know there won't be an ignore function just yet, but the ability to hide quoting of an ignored person's posts would be good. :)

What did he say?

We won't add that.
Partially because it's not just the quote, it's the reply. And then the thread may start to be total nonsense as all posts are in reply to something.
The ignore function will only ever cover direct communications only, not secondary ones.

And then the thread may start to be total nonsense as Jeez is posting in it
Well that's the issue innit

When is microcosm planned for full release, im keen to start using it.

We've written a lot of the import already and are partway through writing the import.
Feels like weeks, not months.

I have used mikec's script for ignoring in the past. It really helps as you are unaware of the posts by the person you wish to avoid, and whenever they are quoted. Sometimes when the conversation appeared really odd I would realise that things had been blanked out, but rarely did it render a discussion into nonsense.

Markdown quotes are different.

the ability to ignore cat memes on the memes thread would be amazing

If you write some software that does this, and it's in Go, then I'll consider merging it into the product.

So that means also that if I write it and publish it on GitHub should not put me in that pile of posters density which should be ignored whatsoever with the simple act of hiding your own brain from yourself for fear of not to be ignored?
I mean just being part of it without having feeling of being just a common idiot.

Hej,
It would be nice if https://www.lfgss.com/static/img/favico.png pointed to something more lafguss related rather than .
It would be helpful for those of us who 'pin' the site in chrome (or have too many tabs open) since 'M' doesn't relate that hard to 'lfgss'. In addition, I assume, if all goes well, that I will eventually be on more than one microcosm forum. In that case it will just be a cavalcade of M's.
Does anyone still read this agèd thread?

I read it. Avidly.
That's on the list, and is increasing in importance as my own frustration at not telling the difference between my label-less buttons increases.

(sortof) while we are at it, the trending and following pages are pretty confusing since they don't say what forum they are in. Especially since classifieds are starting to not have the For Sale: prefix.
And $#%#$^ I just hit cancel instead of Post Reply again.

I'm not sure having "New" next to each forum title is useful? It seems to show "New" unless you have read every single conversation within it. Wouldn't it be better if it only showed if say a new conversation had been created? or there had been a new post in a conversation which you had previously read. I'm unlikely to read every conversation within a forum so all of the forums show as new all the time.

When you're done reading things... hit the "Mark Everything Read" button on the home page.

what would be useful is a direct edit od a text instead of the system as it is now; that the editable text pops up under the original post. ive had several ocassions where ive tried to alter in the og post and not the box under it because it feels counterintuitive.
secondly, i believe it has been said before; that the "in reply to" button in a replied post doesnt redirect to the og post but pops it up or something. i have to scroll like a madman! -

The problem with formatting of text, letting people have bold, italics and even video embeds:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8r-tXRLazs
Well the problem is that to let you edit text inline means to give you a really rich WYSIWYG tool.
And frankly... that's crappy.
They seldom work well across devices, and seldom consistently on a single device.
So yeah... edit box below.

Oh, and I just replaced
/trending
with/today
.
If it's paid, and you want us to help manage the tickets... then we'll only sell tickets to people who have paid and the money will go into your PayPal or Stripe account.
That feature is planned.
But if we're not managing the sales, then we're just assuming that this isn't a paid thing as you'd be using something to do ticket sales otherwise. In which case we're not managing any other info about the attendees, like whether they turned up or not, or paid or not.
The paid tickets stuff will have all of that, but only if we're handling the sales (because we cannot know who has paid otherwise).
