The BB is too low.

The BB is too low.
is that all you can say that's wrong?
hey kid, I'm sorry, but track ends alone don't make a track bike.low BB
long wheel base
slack angles
long and low geometry
wild clearances
fork rake
bottle cage mounts
probs moreare you gonna adress all these things also?
good luck with the project tho.

The BB is too low.
Will be even lower with track ends unless there is attention in that area.
-
• #83
Can never put this on the track I know that
But as the heading say fixie project and not track project I can live with that
It's more for looks than anything else
The bike isn't going to be ridden hard so these things don't concern me -
• #84
You risk your pedal striking when you turn.
Better to have left the dropouts. -
• #85
Riding style adjustment will sort that out
But certainly something to think about -
• #86
Scintillating, I just can't wait.
Rudeboy, please request a thread merge from hippy so the excitement is tempered by the other less exciting 'current projects' ...
And the rest of you starting your very own tedious 'look I am assembling some bicycle parts into ... guess what ... a bicycle!' threads, just stick it in current projects and spare us the tedium.
Buidling a beater? there's a thread for that. Cargo? same. Mercian? Weightweenie? CX? ditto.
This.
Why the recent spate of these stupid threads? -

This.
Why the recent spate of these stupid threads? You don't have to read them and you certainly don't have to post in them.
Just sayin' like.

Doesn't answer my question.

Why can't I post a build thread in this section????
Where else should I post a thread to get input and help on my fixie or whatever other build ??
Or is this forum too elite for this ?? -
• #90
You should post current projects right here.
Such is life that you will always get on someone's tits. -

http://www.lfgss.com/thread6261-1437.html
This used to be where current projects were discussed.

Doesn't answer my question.
This.
First few specific topic were fun at first, and now we've every small niche from SSCX to Beaters.
Why can't I post a build thread in this section????
He's talking about those topic where you can post your favourite bikes in rather, not about this topic being in the correct section.

Are you upset your not in control
Because you can't lock our threads and keep the forum all for yourself???So what in particular is wrong with my thread about a SS bike on a SS forum ??
-
• #96
Riding style adjustment will sort that out
But certainly something to think aboutWith the original dropout, it's low, but not enough to get pedal strike.
However to put track end actually lower it even *more *.
This is what he's saying.
-
• #97
Yes I understand that but what are we talking ??
10mm max at the BB !!!!
I can live with that as I don't go flying round corners anyway
And it will look so much better with them fitted -

I can live with that as I don't go flying round corners anyway
And it will look so much better with them fittedSubjective as fixed wheel bicycle do have horizontal drop out, like this Condor Tempo, the point that it easier to removed wheel with mudguard attach;
Even if you don't go flying round corners, you'd still get a fair degrees of pedals strike, but since you're committed, make sure you choose a thin and narrow pedals than those MTB one to lessen the risk.

Spd pedals
Fair enough. Don't ask me why I googled this but I found this:
http://daubhill.webeden.co.uk/#/1940-on-up-dobble/4565891881
Ken Charlson had a bike shop in Daubhill, Bolton in the 1970's, but the shop is now occupied by Geoff Smith...
