  • Ok, ok, due to pressure from an adoring fanbase, I'll take some more pics tomorrow. I might (if requested) even throw in a moody purple background shot as well....

Indra, if you turn up at the track with a carbon Dolan you WILL have to actually ride it!

  • I'll ride if I have enough time with school and all to actually ride.

  • Back by enormous popular demand, all right, just IndraRipper and Vesalius.....

Here's the Cannibal, track-ready (just add 14 sprocket).

The thing is, I don't know the unwritten rules, now it has no brake is it HHSB? Should I remove the bar tape and add stickers?

  • Its HHSB in my books, twin HED 3 is pretty much as good as it gets. Looks rad by the way.

  • I need to see this in the flesh!

  • Come to the track day :)

  • when be this?

  • LFGSS track day 7.

  • top work indra

  • Weight Weenie update: 6.8kg with pedals (why do people weigh bikes without? I find them quite a useful component).

It would be easy to lose a kg (light bars which flex, light wheels which flex etc.), but weight is only really significant uphill and I haven't seen many hilly velodromes. Besides, it always amuses me how many superlight bikes are ridden by less-than-superlight riders, there are easier and less expensive places to shed kilos.... This is not fattist, everyone should have bikes that make them happy and skinny people should also have the right to ride heavy bikes!

  • Nice one Colin, is that 6.8kg with the heds?

  • Out of curiosity, the rear HED3, does it have a lockring? Is it a track adaptor or is it a permanent?

  • Yep, 6.8 with the lardy Heds! Could drop 600g by putting my mates climbing wheels in, but they're spindly and so is he (which is why he wins hillclimbs).

To the best of my knowledge, all rear Heds are fronts with track adapters, there is provision for a lockring but I don't bother until I get on a track. Never had a cog spin off, but remember I ride braked and don't skid.

  • Weight Weenie update: 6.8kg with pedals (why do people weigh bikes without? I find them quite a useful component).

Because weight of the pedals varied, also some weight without tyres in the past as they also varies.

  • ^Yep Ed, I know that, but the weight of a Super Record chainset is different to that of a Miche, I've never heard of a bike weighed without a chainset for this reason....

  • Because those component are not exactly swappable.

  • Because those component are not exactly swappable.

    All components are swappable Ed.

  • o rly?

  • Needs to be weighed as it will be used, otherwise it's a nonsense- so tyres need to be inflated, for example.

Anything that doesn't require a tool to remove should come off- saddle bag, pump, computer head unit.

Dolan- needs a rear disc, purely on aesthetic grounds.

  • Because weight of the pedals varied, also some weight without tyres in the past as they also varies.

Ed even an identical component varies in weight which is why a manufacturer always puts a tolerance on the weight quoted and the sickest weight weenies buy multiple items and selects the lightest from the batch.

  • ^Say that isn't true, Oswald, if it is that's terrifying!

I agree entirely with Dammit on weighing methods, but not on the disc aesthetic (purely because I am too mean to buy one). Tyres were fully inflated.

Pretty much anything can be removed from a track bike by removing a maximum of two bolts, in-built swappability!

I suspect most Weenies use Speedplays, they are incredibly light if you ignore the mechanism filled cleats (pretty damned light even with them).

  • Moar updates!!!!

  • very nice. i too would rather have comfort rather than slammage

Slam for the photos and then tweak it up for long rides.....?

(Don't pretend you've never done it...)

Great bike though - 1 brake is good - plenty of other ways to grip drops when climbing!

  • Love this! Exactly the same frame as mine i believe, except i have yellow decals!

Any info on the frame? I can't find anything.
