I'll be on superlight XC. If the parts turn up in time.
Sounds intruiging.Loving the coiler
Cheers, I'm still deciding whether it's worth the time and expense to build it up again. The original bike had too many compromises - poor fork being the main one. The frames somewhat dated now, but I like its simplicity.

It's touch and go really, week days will be better.

Had a tentative ride around Epping today. Only came off once.
Not confident in these tyres on anything loose at all, and my front V is so fuckin' grabby. Hmm

^ Can't quite make out what you've got on your bike in that photo. Would you be able to get something cheap and knobbly for the front?
Even something like this would help a bit.

Done.
Thank you kindly. I may also have to peel off a little early, but looking forward to it.

^ No problem. I can always get early leavers back to the station ( or wherever ) if need be.

Cool. This place also has a lot of choice for decent budget tyres.

Ok, You'll probably have a fair idea where you are most of the time then.

Ha. Hardly.
Navigation is not my strong point. I get lost in car parks. Worse still in forests.

^ I'll try and steer well clear of the forest car parks then.

I find the best thing is to not use your front brake and just keep riding faster.

Also really looking forward to next weekend now after yesterday's ride.

If you start at the hut the cyclists congregate at rather than the motorcyclists, head down the hill next to the hut the wide sandy route at 90 degrees to the road rather than parallel to the road, follow the line at the bottom which ends up at a switchback to the left which can be taken a little motocross style. Then you end up at a gate, turn left and go to the top of Wellington hill, cross the road, and then there's a few rollers which culminate overlooking someone's garage. Before you get to that end bit there's a trail to the left which is tight and twisty through hollybushes and snakes left and right through narrow trees. Eventually you end up at a quick left over a bridge and then a bit of flat riding gets you on to a fire road. I don't know where that is or how to get back to the hut but that was what me and Cake were enjoying yesterday.
I'll be on superlight XC. If the parts turn up in time.
