• Sorry guys, bit short on spare time this year :-(

I might be able to do another at the end of August, but I can't confirm that yet.

Possibly a couple in October. I'll keep you updated.

  • List for 26th of July

    1. BN
    2. Shoosh - possy
  • Welcome aboard, Shoosh. Let me know what you plan to do about having/borrowing/hiring a suitable bike :-)

  • Now I've done a cycle maintenance course, I am planning to see if my old MTB is road worthy (or make it so).
    If not will hire one.

Really don't want to miss this ride but it is so close to me being a human pin-cushion, I might have to.

Excellent, you'll be able to fix Indra's bike for him :-)

  • in =)

  • Hurrah, it's actually starting to look like a list now!

  • Excellent, you'll be able to fix Indra's bike for him :-)

That calls for advanced skills like welding..... ;)

I'm more fixing punctures / cleaning chains / changing tyres etc.

  • What time does we meet at Chingford station so I can plan things around ,thanks ? Havent ridden off road for ages, (well I ripped Eroica rough bits last week)

  • We'd probably meet at the station no earlier than 11am. Then wait around until 11:30 for whatok before setting off.

  • Haven't ridden off road for ages

Not to worry. There'll be some who've never ridden any :-)

  • Definitely IN.....dug me bike out and cleaning the green slime off of it.tuning the suspension and deciding what tyres

What tyres do you have available to choose from, Tony?

  • ^ Well as you asked,....Dmr Motos,Schwalbe Nobby Nics tubed or tubeless, Schwalbe Alberts.Maxxis Ardent and Crossmax,Continental Rubber Queen, Tioga Factory Muds.......and don't even go there with road bike tyres,

  • Nice selection :-)

I found that the Ardent front/Crossmark rear combination worked well in Epping last year. Nobby Nics appear to be well suited too.

Anything mud related will just be unnecessarily hard work at this time of year.

  • saying that, dicki managed to cope fine, using tyres that were about a decade past their 'use by' date.

  • Until he broke his bike

  • Oh yeah :-/

  • im at chingford british rail station, where is peoples?

  • epic fukup, its next month inni? blush, shame, have a ride on my own then :)

  • Oh Tony :-(

Have a good ride mate! Hope it's not too wet out there today.

  • Tony! Come join us for the last part do the N/E/S/W ride when you can.

  • Lols

  • have a ride on my own then :)

    Has this been resolved yet?

  • Down in the forest something stirred......... kept to the left of the woods on the way up,rough riding most of the way, then crossed over just before Bell common tunnel and came back down on a nice little trail all the way to High Beech cafĂ©(massive jacket potato well recommended) over the road to Wellington Hill? narrower with dangerous sink holes, a nice bridleway alongside a golfcourse on one side and a police helicopter pad on the other .. didn't have a map just rode where I fancied...and the tree canopy meant I didn't get wet..... nice billynomatesride:)
