• Don't worry Indra, you'll still have by far the most dangerous and unsuitable bike ever seen in Epping Forest.

  • Except that one time I rode a Brompton ;-)

    Ah, you've accepted my brakelessness

Except that one time I rode a Brompton ;-)

    Was it brakeless?

  • Was it brakeless?

No, but it did try to fold itself in half every time I rode over a bump :-D

  • Ah, like my Dave Russell then.

  • Please tell me you don't still have drops on that thing!

Had the Mary bars on today, more so I could get a proper comparison between the old and new frame. May pop the Midges back on for next time out though. It'll make getting out there a hell of a lot quicker if nothing else!

  • That's tre, how long does it take* you* to ride there?

  • Had the Mary bars on today

You know that the both the Midge and Mary bars are available in a 31.8 version now don't you?

Normal handlebars are also available ;-)

Took quite a while this morning, about 2 hours. Surprisingly much quicker on the way back!

May just wait for On One to make a 25.4 version of the stem, or continue my epic quest to find a decent shim!

I may actually buy some normal bars for the Inbred once it's built up!

    Just cant help some people.

Wow! At least make sure that they're a suitably garish colour ;-)

  • The only thing allowed to be a colour other than black, grey or silver is the frame. (Exceptions for whitewall/gumwall tyres on suitable bikes and the red bits on my Avid bits).

    That's the (well, my) rule.

  • Ah, you've accepted my brakelessness

Also dude, there were some fireroads today where I was hitting somewhere in the region of 35-40mph. I'd be wary about having a gear low enough to ride up the steep bits and low enough to control the quick changes in speed on the descents. I was riding on around 65GI today and it was pretty high for the conditions (which will get quicker come May admittedly, well, I hope so at least!). I imagine anything lower than that would be much too spinny for the downhills.

  • I'd probably be on 65 GI, I've never ridden fixed or SS on anything under 70 but promised BN I'd gear down.
I'll try out fixed before the rides and if I'm not getting on with it I'll go back to freewheeling.

  • I'll be walking up hills.

Indra will be skidding falling walking down them.

  • Don't worry, I'll bring my camera so you can film me failing.

  • You hold onto it, first person crashes always look better ;)

  • Head mount facing forward or fork mount facing me?

  • Head mount definitely!

Also if you're at the jumble on Sunday be sure to say hi, i'll be working.

  • I will be there, not sure what you look like though lol

  • I'll be the guy on the blue fully rigid SS carbon MTB ;)

  • not sure what you look like

  • Will you be trackstanding on it while you work?
I'll be on the orange inbred SS with squeeky brakes.

  • Good to meet you this morning. Think I've caught a chill though, sitting around in the cold like that. Should have had some HTFU instead of cake.

  • Don't believe it Shoosh, you can't catch a cold from being cold.

  • Will you be trackstanding on it while you work?
I'll be on the orange inbred SS with squeeky brakes.

    I'll listen out for it!
