yep very similar plus you dont need any special tool, just 2 allen keys. 3D24 is what you want.

I've had multiple units from both and I'd go P2M

And it appears it's a fraction of the cost.

what bb adapter would i need to use a rotor 3d 24 crank in the cannondale synapse - will the praxis bb30 converter bb work?
-
• #7507
Ignore Amey and get 3d+ - it works in BSA frames too.
As long as you don't have wiring or other nonsense kicking around in there.

I know, I know

eh?
-
• #7511
am assuming the rotor bb30-bb24 bottom bracket would also do the job
-
• #7512
If you use a 3D+ crank you don't have to use an adapter in the synapse, and it will still fit your BSA bike.
Unless there is anything else in the bottom bracket on the BSA bike, like Di2 wires, because the 30mm spindle is very close to the ID of the BB shell...

lols

shit yeah, howard is right. There are more chances of 24mm axle in BB30 creaking than 30mm axle in BSA shell (with Rotor BSA30).

This is interesting. Could I in fact use my cannondale cranks in the bb24 with that rotor BB?
I could then just buy the cannondale p2m and praxis chainrings.
How easy is it to swap cannondale cranks in and out?

No, the Cannondale cranks are BB30 (30mm axle, 68mm width across bearings), the Rotor ones are (although they don't admit it) BB386 (30mm axle, 86mm width across bearings)
BB386 cranks use spacers to take up the excess spindle length to allow use in a BB30 shell

Long shot - does anyone have any 165 or 170 length rotor 3d24 arms they want to sell? Not fussed about spider size.
-
• #7518
nope, can only do with Rotor (with BSA30).
-
• #7519
I've got a 172.5 mm pair.
-
• #7520
The pair you gave me with the p2m are 172.5 :)

Compared to pretty much any other modern crank a bit of a faff, frankly. But it doesn't matter anyway because they won't fit your BSA frame. Unless they have made a kinda-bb86 axle and spider PM for the new SuperX (but I suspect they haven't).

Rotor are pretty easy, even have the removal tool in the crank.
I love the Cannondale cranks but I'd never want to swap them between bikes.

You going down the adapter route with the synapse?
SRM or p2m?
am thinking rotor 3d - are they as easy to install as shimano cranks?
