Oh, just a generic carbon rim then?
Problem is Raltec aren't making wheel covers any more so I'm being forced to race without power. I could probably tolerate using a Zipp 808 equivalent rim on the rear, but not with 28 spokes.
You're a sprinter right? 28h would be loads stiffer.

Is it possible to convert freehub Powertap to the fixed?
-
• #7305
I think that's how they originally came about, wheelsmith (?) in the US converting free to fixed. But I don't know if they still do it.

Moving a Jet Disc rim sideways 5mm will be fun :-)

@xavierdisley what's your advised (used) technique for static torque test?
hang weight of chain wrapped around chainring?
Or is weight off crank arm acceptable?
Crank in vice and hang weight off chainring. -

Yeah so that's weight off pedal axle method.
Plus thats for powertap, not SRM. (know srm in photo) -

Power free 6hr XC race yesterday (loose battery). Perceived effort and concentrating on racing people works better.
-
• #7313
I'm not surprised. How do you tend to normally use power data during a XC race?
Data very useful for post analysis, less so during.

Does anyone in North London have a G3 power tap hub cap removal tool?
-
• #7316
Just use a bit of inner tube. I'm skinny armed and feeble and it works for me.

Does anyone have specific instructions for a bearing swap for the Powertap SL+ Track hub? I've found the road video as posted here earlier but nothing on the track. It's booked into my lbs but they can't touch it till 1 July, wtf.
Is it the same in principle, as say this.. http://www.fixedlondon.com/mechanics/tutorial-replacing-bearings-in-a-goldtec-track-hub/

Large spanner, one inner face against the axle, other inner face against the face of the cap, done.
-
• #7319
I can't visualise either approach. Are you referring to the latest model, I.e. Post 2013?
-
• #7320
I'm referring to this one:
If you take a large adjustable spanner you can set it so it's the width of the axle to one of the three grooves in the end-cap, and then simply rotate the cap off.
