there's a chain connecting the cranksets, so going crank-based surely neither would provide a clean value? (effort of b would affect reading at a)

Two sets of pedal power would work, but the pilot would need two garmin's to display the power meter of each power meter separately, enabling them to shout at the stoker whenever they weren't pulling their weight.

You would probably be best off using two heart rate monitors

^^ Not really. Setup each Garmin to display % of FTP and shout "80%" or "120" or "f*c#!ng 200%" etc.
Like skinny says with the right type of PM that's all good.

nah just have a garmin each - with the power meters synced to the "wrong" ones - that way either person can see when the other is slacking :)

I don't think this would matter if it's measured at crank (rather than chainring like the new powertap).

Good to see we are all very busy at work this Friday afternoon...

This was one of the better discussions on the ride today....
Forgot to sync my P2m up before I left, was silly. -

FYI my p2m issues with the battery dying fast seem to have been isolated to that battery. P2m sent me new batteries (fair play) and since then I've done 250ish hours on the battery. More than the 170 before it died last time. Both were same recommend battery.

They used to recommend only using a Swiss brand battery.
I bulk bought, and have only used one so far. Lasts ages.

@6pt you got wattage? This got coincidentally bumped.

Edit- that's the one. Currently I have a pair of cranks and the spider - ideally I need two to become one.. None of my local bike shops seem to have the tool.
You about today?

AndyP also has one I believe.

Ditto on having one, if I can find it- will be around Putney in evening.
Will update when/if found (bout 1hr) -

He's got mine, I pm'd him earlier.
Have P2M dropped their prices? Seems cheaper on their site to what i remember.

Looks like it
2 crank/pedal power meters would work. As they're registering the strain applied to the cranks.
