Pineau, riding ahead of the bunch without any real speed or conviction, has "fallen out of the front of the peloton" according to Sean Kelly

In other immensely surprising news, Marianne Vos has won the women's race. In a sprint. :)
-
• #4604
Yeah that was a pretty cool, if not inevitable finish. Hope Lizzie is okay.

already feeling nervous about the sprint. kinda hope Greipel can pull it off but the moment kittel shook his head on that cat 4 on Friday felt like he was deciding to keep everything in the tank for today

Just turned it off.
Can't. Take. Any. More. Inane. Commentary.
I know it's a quiet day, but fuck me if it doesn't just underline how fucking shit they are, and this applies equally to Phil and Paul on ITV and Lord Admiral Kalkulashun's posse on Eurosport. What the fucking fuck. ''I know you would usually say that x would happen, but of course, usually sometimes doesn't turn out that way" Illuminating and insightful.
Are all english speaking cyclists so fucking dull this is the best they can source or what?

A red button type option to on/off the commentary wouldn't be too hard to offer. Please

Next year it's Jeez and Marcom.
Maybe Jeez and Marcom are actually Phil and Paul and they've just been trolling fixxy riders and pissing themselves in the studio this whole time.
Hmm?

Out of interest, has the yellow jersey ever crashed in the final stage? What would happen in said instance?
-
• #4612
Well, Valverde would leg it to the line as fast as he could, everyone else would wait unless he's paralysed or unable to finish in which case it's a massive case of 'tough tits you should have shared that magnum of champagne instead of drinking it all yourself you greedy bastard'

Ok late to the party I know, but after Thursday's stage with Valverde sat in fourth place and then the following day being a flat one everyone said he was gonna have a strong TT and pull back the 20 seconds or so that he lost to the two Frenchies. What happened, did he just have a bad TT?

Porte daring to dream?
He's been ill all season. After the stage where he went backwards Porte said he didn't cope with the heat, it was the DS that started talking about being ill. I think it's probably a smokescreen to excuse taking an off-form rider to the Tour. In 2014 he has been a shadow of himself, and that was probably down to some illness, like Cadel in 2012 when he was haunted by a mysterious yer-long virus.
Whatever the reason Porte just hasn't had the legs in the TdF.
