^^ They are, but given how they treated Ted King in the TTT last year, it seems that they don't extend their generosity to the Merkins.

Aren't the commissaires notoriously fickle in their implementation of time-limits? Be interesting to see how strict they are today ..
They can re-instate someone, like they did with Machado on Monday, but he'd been in a crash, whereas today Talansky has just been dropped so it's not a given.
Talansky may not make it to the finish, given how tough the next 20 kms are.

Must be really lonely knowing you are the final rider on your own with not much chance of getting back on or making the cut.

Is there anything to give away why he was dropped? If it's just lack of form/fitness from injuries then hard to see why he bothered getting back on...

Looking at the descent finish, and how Cannodale are (or were? I'm not watching) bossing the peloton, I say Saggers has this sewn up.
Just watch him crash now :(
It looked like that a couple of days ago then as soon as the road starting going up, he started dropping back.

^thought someone said he punctured?
-
• #3233
I love these roads.

According to his team, he's got a back problem that means he can't get the power out.
-
• #3235
Ah that would make more sense than a puncture.

There is a chance he'll make the cut. Tomorrow's another day, Vaughters doesn't like him etc.

That last one I made up.

It looks like pretty much the whole peloton is together right now?
Is there anything in the next 30km to drop Kittel (if he is not already dropped)?

'Dale motoring

No.

Maybe he just wants to avoid the kind of fierce criticism dished out to Cancellara by Tibbs?

Some brilliant sufferface from Roche now
-
• #3246
I think Roche's best chance is if someone jumps off on the final climb and he can hang on.
-
• #3248
Too soon Roche!
-
• #3249
He had 14s.
Too late!

Does Roche have something down the front of his jersey, or a little bit of a belly?
In other words, is there hope for me yet?
