If I'm going to consider taking Tynan to Herne Hill for kids' cycling activities, the overground's going to be the only viable option.

True, last train from Shoreditch back south is 11.40something pm.
I have a strong preminitions that I will miss this regularly.
Hopefully when they review the timetable they might put something on a bit later. -

Handy for me to get to work sometimes, Forest Hill to Shoreditch High Street, I like it.
I only ever take it when I have to go somwhere in a whistle and flute without going into the office first, or if I am totally knackered.
Thankfully the expected influx of East End hipsters to Forest Hill has so far failed to materialise.

It was shut down for a while on day 2 with a signal failure at Peckham Rye. Not a good start to be honest, though the trains are nice.

Forest Hill is next.Regretably we'll have to dynamite the bridges when the tight-trousered brigade learn that they can stay on past Honour Oak.

They're just trying not to appear too keen at the moment.

I suspect that they may be infiltrating- possibly via parachute.
The local estate agents called Forest Hill "an area well known for it's artistic community" in it's standard ad copy the other day.

When? Why didn't anyone tell me? Where is the cool stuff going on? Obvs. not on my road. Is it just some place I evidently haven't head of?

They've all moved on now because they were into it before it was cool.
I almost never use any trains in London. No matter how good or improved, there aren't really any scenarios when I don't prefer to ride my bike. That said, I don't often have to do the sort of trips the Overground facilitates. I've only used it once, when I was injured and couldn't ride my bike. It enabled me to go to Brockley drinks. However, it was very expensive and I didn't realise it closed so early. Then I had to take buses home, anyway.
