Yates in a series of potentially contentious claims:
http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/yates-defends-armstrong-but-is-critical-of-team-sky
"I still believe he [Armstrong] is a phenomenal athlete and still the biggest engine ever to get on a bike, apart from maybe Chris Froome," Yates told PA.
Ha, ha, ha. :)
Asked if Armstrong raced clean in 2009, he said: "I don't know. He came out and said he did whatever. I believe he was [clean] and certainly his performances were nothing out of this world."
**
**“To be brutally honest, there is no one at Sky who knows much about bike riding."
I for one don't want to see it when Jimmy Fingers gets his teeth into him. It certainly won't be pretty. :\ :/ -

You'd think he had a book to sell or something, given the contentious nature of the comments.

Ha! I kinda like Yates. Silly stuff about Armstrong and Froome won't be thanking him for the comparison. I sort of agree with him about Sky, too much number crunching, not enough experience. It's why they miss Yates, and more Rogers.
He's given the trolls so much ammo, no love for him now at Sky. Expect him at Wiggins in a team next season.

That number crunching approach proved disastrous again for Team Sky this year, didn't it? You wonder why they persist with it.

See my exclusive interview with **Sir Bradley Wiggins on Sky Sports News tomorrow. Says it's not his place to clear the air with Froome **
considering how he treated Chris it is actually, but clearly he's too caught up in his own delusions.

I thought Brad was being pretty decent

Brads looking fast. Odds on for Worlds TT now. Got to be. Hope nothing erroneous happens between now and then, been looking forward to the showdown ho-down since the Olympics.

Odds on after he's beaten a weak field in a short TT in a shitty little race? Hardly.
I'd say he was one of three strong favourites alongside Martin and Cancellara, with Phinney as a dark horse.
I'd not like to choose between them, on their day all three could win. Should be a cracking race.

Watch it, Andy will nerg you for being sexist

A quick bit of research tells me that the only rider to have won both roads and time trial is Abraham Olano (not in the same year). I'd like to find odds on Cancellara doing the double this year.
Looking at the course I don't see how Froome has a hope in hell, but what do I know.
-

Yes Andy.
I meant more that he's in with a chance of being up there and getting good odds. Rather than pure odds to win. But he's clearly going decently and so it's be nice to see them all battle it out with form and in one place.

I'm shouting for Stannard

My highlight is talking about training in the winter in teh UK. When out riding he'll see labours working on the road, or so. And that they're out there in the rain for several hours. If they can go and do that for bugger all money, he can dam well ride his bike for 4-5 hours and not complain!
