I watched Stage 1 last night. I tried to watch Qatar but that was Nigerian football so clearly they lied about coverage.

The pave is where the shit hits the fans. Looking forward to the gung ho, nutty intensity of the one day classics, more than the more tactical and pragmatic stage races, although both are good
will interesting to see Team SKY, apparently targeting the classics! what out Boonen Sagan lol.. -

Eurosport not showing the middle east Tours this year?
They were due to air Qatar. Seeing it disappeared off the schedule I tweeted them..
Their response was
Contractual issues beyond our control means we cannot now show this race. Our 2013 coverage will begin with Tour of Oman
Cheers.
I guess that means another broadcaster got it but I've not seen anyone else showing it. Bit of a fail for Qatar.
pay attention hippy

Meanwhile, Andy Schleck renounces his planned start in this weekend's Tour du Haut Var.

Does he like bike racing or was he just doing it because of an overbearing brother or something?
-

There was an video interview with Schlecklet on cycling news or similar (after Tour Med?) and he looked and sounded like a broken man. Talking about crying alot and not wanting to train.
Then his DS weighs in and says basically the same thing.
edit It was TDU

Doping may well play a part, but it sounds as if he may have had a breakdown. He could also be depressed.

I actually feel quite sorry for him. Interacting with Bruyneel seems to have permanently broken him. I hope he can sort himself out and get back to some semblance of form.

I don't know what their marketing budget is but there are adverts for the Tour of Oman on bus shelters on Tottenham Court Road.
But these are a day behind so stage 4 tonight, the "queen stage" to green mountain
