  • Bloody chit chat.
    Still. It's more interesting topic.

  • Froome to edge out Wiggo.

  • Fuentes found guilty, gets a 1 year sentence.

Four years ban from being a doctor (shurly a lifetime ban is in order???)

More importantly, the blood bags that were confiscated (and through his guilt rendered prosecutable evidence) are NOT to be handed to anti doping authorities for DNA testing.

If it was guaranteed that only cyclists were involved I'd bet they would allow testing - with the risk of footballers, tennis players and golfers involved, the bags are left untested.

    Stinks.

  • I just turned 30 and I'm not sure i can even say i've started a career yet unless you count chatting shit on the interwebs and goading procyclists' worse-halves.

    You are Michelle Cound AICM£5

  • I predict that in the Tour, Sky will ride a really hard tempo on the first climb, which will shed everybody except for two or three riders, all bad time triallists, and then the Tour will be decided. I mean, it's obviously a very new tactic that's never worked like that for anyone, but I'm confident in my predictions.

  • I predict in the TTT that Wiggins will ride away from the other 8 Sky riders, putting a good 42seconds into Froome. He punches the air as he crosses the line.

Then realises that the time from the fifth rider counts. Doh.

If I get to retire now then while away my days trying to wind up Froome's teammates on twitter in between bouts of shopping and international travel I'll step up to the plate and marry him...

  • I don't know if i have the requisite bone structure though

    #elbowface

  • For my two centimes i reckon Wiggins should be given the chance to defend his crown in this years TDF, unless of course he is not physically up to it.

    Froome reminds me of Nosferatu...

  • Just read on inrng that brads on mechanical not electronic gears for the giro.
2 fingers to Shimano, they'll be pissed.

  • ^After having 2 bikes break on him, cannot say that I am surprised. Is there 11 speed mechanical or just 10?

  • whurs that gif of him chucking his bike away like a boss?

froomey couldn't do that in a million years. fucking amateur.

  • Brad was all like 'bitch please...'

Pinarello is all like 'deal with it'

PR people are all like 'victory viral-marketing wank time'

This +1000, lame cover up, cyclists are the sacrificial lamb. Other sports must be so thankful for dirty cycling to carry the punishment for their shared guilt

I'm going to write a letter to the times about this. Then shit on it

  • Doping. Thread >>>>

  • more a reflection of the power that big football clubs have in spain, plus a really unpopular government, huge cuts and massive unemployment-leave the people their illusions and all that.

it's not like the spanish are all dirty filthy cheating bastards-they just haven't adapted the admirable british trait of building people up to pull them down again at the first convenient opportunity as the social equivalent of a nicotine patch for real blood sports.

As i heard it being reported the type of doping offences being alleged were not even a crime in Spain at the time the blood bags were produced by the various nameless athletes.

The only charges they could bring against Fuentes were on medical safety grounds because he treated patients off site and not in a medical environment.

In my opinion the Judge is right to say they should be destroyed because whether people like it or not patient confidentiality should still prevail, unless of course something like a murder has been committed in which case it should be down to the police and the courts to ask for evidence not Dick Pound and his extra judicial anti-doping organization.

I'm not pro drugs in sport but i am very pro sovereignty of the individual and medical records are about as personal as it gets, third parties should not have the right to access such data on the pretext that someone has cheated at games.

    mavic zap or stfu...

  • Wiggins is going to go through the ringer in a big way to win the Giro and I can't see him having the legs.

Yes - the double has been done before but only in an era when everyone was everyone was doping. Even Big Mig? For sure.

  • I don't see why not. Giro ends on 27th may, tour starts on 29th june.
Brad is a good stage racer, look at the TT he put out at the end of the tour last year. And was then stronger than ever going into the olympics.

I thought this. Wiggins is a proper diesel. If he can avoid blowing up in the Giro I reckon he can keep his head down and train hard for 4 weeks and still be competitive, maybe even have an advantage in that he's not 'riding into form' in the first week of the Tour.
He could put valuable minutes into his rivals in that first week and still have a buffer if he fades in the last week of the Tour.

  • day 1 of 4 days of dunkirk live on eurosport 2 at 14.30 (uk time)

also today Eschborn-Frankfurt GP - streams probably available at the usual places

  • if wiggo wins the Giro the biggest hindrance to the Tour might be another decent into living out Welleresque binges-Cound leaving him anonymous crates of beer on his doorstep, filing his bidon with whisky sours, putting cheeky wee rolliees in his musette...
