I've got a preliminary route set, I'll go over it this morning and post up a map later on today.

Ok, so here is a quick overview of the route I had planned:
From the Forum we go down St Andrews and then Prince of Wales, then cross over the lights and follow Yarmouth Rd all the way to Sainsburys. Go up through Dussendale then through a little 'cut through' that takes you onto the lanes. From there on we are pretty much traffic free until we get to the brewery, give or take having to cross over both Plumstead Rd and Salhouse Rd.
Or we could just smash it straight down Salhouse Road :-)
I think I prefer the route off main roads for this particular jaunt so we can ride several abreast, take it easy and chat away.
Thoughts?

Sounds good to me. We can smash it back on Salhouse Road on the way home.

For the way back we can cut through Stonehouse Road / Howlett's Loke which brings you out at Salhouse Station. Or just smash it straight up Salhouse Rd, whatever :-)
Going out should be ok but lights will definitely be needed for the return leg. It's proper dark that side of Norwich.
I'll bring along my monster front light :-)

So, to recap: 7pm at the Forum?
-
• #57
Yep, i reckon we should take Rob's route both ways. Salhouse lane looks boring
-
• #58
Yep - I need to go home via a bike shop of some sort as my rear tyre is down to the cords...should still be there for 7 tho
-
• #59
I may be a bit late due to work but if I am, I can meet you along Thorpe Road.
Rob - I'll text you if this is the case.

No worries bud.
I'll wait at the Forum till 7:15. Then we'll make our way down towards Yarmouth Road. I would expect our convoy to be going at quite a leisurely pace, so you will have plenty of time to catch us before we enter the maze that is Dussendale :-)

You lot in the ten bells?
-
• #64
Nope. I think we're all at home. I could be tempted out for another possibly.
-
• #65
Haha, bad form. Not a true Friday Night Ride without keeping the Ten Bells open til 1. i have just dropped in for one after work... Probably not gonna be here too long.
-
• #66
To be fair I would have had another had I known you were going to be about. Text me next time :-)

Can't beat riding a fix down quiet country lanes at night :-)

Was seriously chilled

Chilled? Bloody freezing :-).
Next time I'll be packing gloves and socks for sure -

Baselayers FTW

Top half wasn't too bad, benefits of hardly breathable waterproof layer. It was my hands and ankles that were in agony by time I got home :-)

Gutted i missed this by a month! Never realised how close the brewery was, went past it on a ride to wroxham the other day.. I love Woodforde's are too much to let it go. Anyone up for doing this again?

I don't think it's possible without using Salhouse or Plumstead Road.
