yeah, sugino 75s look so much nicer though....
oh well!
Decided on a paint scheme that should be tasteful but interesting (IMO)-http://i44.tinypic.com/8vzng9.jpg
But with a black headtube (will put red swinnerton headbadge on top)Ryan did a brilliant repair job as usual, the seatclamp looks even better than the original!

That remark was inspired by your bike Apollo... (;
Not keen on gold myself but each to their own.

Dropped to armourtex with an interesting brief ...
-

Ok just got it back from armourtex and built it up a bit....
Will get better photos when I have sorted out the decals etc.
Can't remember the RAL but its gold with black headtube and clear lacquer, took over a week but im incredibly pleased with it. Armourtex did a great job and were very helpful.
Now just need to find someone willing to trade me some more suitable cranks for my omanoms..

Looks good bro...
-

You should've just kept those SR road cranks and used them....
Think we need better photos of the coat, looks like mustard from ere.
-
• #33
Yeah the photos aren't ideal - I was just excited! In reality it's a nice subtle gold colour.
Nah the road cranks belong on a geared bike - they went to a good home eventually
I think I'll save up for some sg75s but run omniums in the meantime. Also have a headbadge on its way from swinnerton and some Reynolds 531sl decals,
Oh and I may paint the lug cut outs black.. -
• #34
I didn't know they could do two colour, do you mind me asking how much?
-
• #35
Armourtex have really upped their game. have you seen the work they do on Ryan's frames?
-
• #36
pics?
-
• #37
Yeah Ryan's got some awesome lug lining on his bike- I was tempted but it was that or the panel
Spotter it cost £140! More than I was expecting but I had my heart set on the black headtube.
Will do more accurate pics tomorrow (currently away)

Ok still not great cos I had to take them inside bit slightly better photos...
-
• #39
thats lovely... i saw this when it came up but had no money
-
• #40
Thanks man, I'm really proud of it - I wish you luck finding a big frame too.
Hilariously swinnerton charge £5 for a replacement head badge decal and £5 to post it- seems faintly ridiculous

have rep.
this sort of attitude kept me sane whilst spending years searching for a track frame in my size.

Bob jackson do free postage, but charge £15 for decal set.
-
• #44
Yeah swinnerton full decal set is £35! This is just the head badge!
I asked them and they said it cost that much to post because the decal is delicate oh well.
I'm just being moany for no good reason! -

Head badge arrived!

OK so TM is going to end up having his way!
Got the BB tapped and faced, fitted the GXP BB and OManoms annnnnnnnd
THEY DONT FIT! Seeing as I just had it painted I dont want to get someone to dent the chainstay for me so it looks like I need a change of cranks.
Anyone want some Omniums + GXP BB + removal/installation tool?
PM me also if you have any nice track cranks to sell or trade.
-
• #47
did you use the spacer as well?
-
• #48
yep! spacer improved it but still horrific grating occurred unless I loosened the cranks to silly proportions :(
Think its because there is literally no indent bit in the chainstay.
On the plus side i suppose its going to force me to give it the cranks it deserves!
