I've got a 39T on the front and a cassette full of 10-speed cog to try out. After reading the above I think I'll start with 39x19 for some almost 2:1 action.

frame was supposed to be here by now. They said 3-4 weeks and it is 4 today. Oh well, cant be arsed to mail them. I know most of their orders are few weeks late now.

Fork has been in the US customs for 10 days now. Should be here any day. Other parts I kind of have already. Putting the wheels (open pro, miche) from my low//, and getting new ones later this spring.

Has anyone had experience using a kaffenback for cross. Is tyre clearance an issue?

A question: I saw some Pompinos up the thread. Does anyone know how big a tyre you can run on one of those? I am told 30 with nobbles, 32 if a slick. Is that about right?

I'm running Nokian A10 with is a studded semi-knobbys in 32 mm with fenders. No problems there.

Yeah, I just popped into the Pompino thread and saw some talk of running 35mm, even 42mm with the long dropouts. I have a Pomp' frame on the way and am thinking about what I will run on it. Don't want to buy some tyres and find they don't fit. Strictly speaking Wiggle won't take them back. I suppose they wouldn't know you had fitted them tho.

Do the kaffenback and the pomp have the same clearance?

I've seen a kaffenback at my school with 35c slicks. don't recall if it even had mudguards too.
