My one piece of advice on choosing a sscx frame, is deciding what chain tensioning method is going to work for you. I had an ebb for a while, but having changed to adjustable dropouts, it makes changing gear so much easier.

Tricross not covered in mud, or upside down with rider in puddle.

Just looked at the Tutto, I’d check tyre clearance, claims it can accommodate up to 35 mm wide tyres, which won’t leave much mud clearance with a 32 or 34 mm tyre.

I'd get something with rear facing dropouts ideally. Or if a total bargs comes up on a well know auction website then an eccentric rear hub or BB (depending on BB type). My immediate thoughts were a pompino but they seldom have XL in stock.

Yeah I was concerned about that. It's going to be a trade off as the bike will be a more general cruiser too. I do like the Cinelli Mash SSCX but it's spendy. And I did think the Mash Work but I don't have the panache to pull it off and it's even spendier. I did consider getting an old tourer frame and building around that. Well I have many months to decide but I'm excited so I doubt I'll wait that long.

I'd sell my xl mash CXSS if I could find a large to replace it. I've been trying to for years

Clamp-on canti-bosses (shimmed to fit)?
-
• #3923
Does such a thing exist?! I was gonna go down the drilled route
-
• #3924
Yeah but usually designed for forks, and not too easy to find (more of a retro MTB thing), but they do exist. Identiti ones commonly available are for fat steel MTB DJ forks; would be a bit bulky/overbuilt for a rear seatstay, however.

These fit round tubes up to 20mm, dunno what diam. PC seatstays are tho
I've only just finished clearing mud out of my drivetrain after Crossmass. So next year I'm going to ride single speed. So that means a new build, yay! The Cinelli Tutti is new to the market, has anyone tried it yet?
