Hmmm, doesn't look too bad at all, considering you'd pay way more for the CX version... infact, I've just looked at how much it was to start off with... all over that like a cheap suit... and you can spend a bit more and get a bigger chainring as well

In a way, it's like you've got a new bike, can't complain about that

X1 being an MTB chainset could mean large q-factor.

Will update the build thread soon, been a long week sorting it all out but got something rideable for now. Needs more work but it's pretty awesome from bombing around so far

Which leaves about 3-4mm of clearance on the stays and forks.

Well it's gonna be for racing once I've changed the tyres back to the 'cross ones. Just threw these on for the South downs:)

how/why do you have 2 cogs on the same side? is it fixed or free?

It's a White Industries dos freewheel. I also have an 18t halo on the other side. It's just to give me some gear options for different rides. I'm gonna use the 22t for a hilly ride this week hopefully but the higher gears are nicer on dry flat races and for getting around.

ah! cool. now you've got me wanting one for my cross bike.

Hehe yeah its great. Feels kinda weird having 3 gears on a single speed though lol

Do you have to adjust the cantis every time you move to another gear?

Not really. I had to when going from 18 to 22 but only slightly. I think I can find an optimal position.
