Why not just put the chain on the inner ring and a bashguard on the outer?
-
• #2828
You know it's 130 spaced at the back, right?
-
• #2829
I think the Omnium chainset comes with spacers.
-
• #2831
Yep and I did ask on here to double check.
-
• #2832
Ah good to know, thinking about it, 3mm is not a lot of spacers.
-
• #2833
Chainline depends on the hub and freewheel, not the frame.
Unless it's a fatbike with an offset rear.
-
• #2834
Inner ring on the Force22 is 41mm. I was refering to the frame to give a hint about which aesthetics would match it.

If you've got enough threads on the hub, just put a 2mm spacer before the freewheel to bring it out to 47mm.

Omnium (and all GXP chainsets) can only be spaced via the non-drive side as that is where the spindle is held captive - thereby reducing your chainline (except in case of inverse shim).

just completed (well nearly) just in time for the cross season...

looking good!

You asked this before.
If your hub is for 42mm chainline and so are your cranks/bb then you will have a 42mm chainline.
The frame does not dictate this. -

did not know this had come out.

So I did, but he has the same frame with different chainline....just checking if that's ok with you dude.
-
• #2848
^^^^ Did he just file down the bolts and go with a 36t?
-
• #2849
nature boy is 130, so use a cassette and a SS spacer set to make your chainline right.

Thanks. But as IR says, the chainline should (in theory) be based on the hubs and cranks. Omnium's and wheels already in the garage, so I hope so.
Chainline is 45mm? Fuck I've just bought the same frame and assumed chainline would be 42mm standard. I just hope the omnium tracks have enough thread for spacers.
