PERFECT. I'm looking for a cheap, but relatively good quality crankset, 110 bcd that can have a bashguard too. Any recommendations? Or anything I should think about in terms of more detail?

Any 110bcb double of ebay. I got an apex crankset for £15 which should give a 42.5mm chainline on the inside. I'll be (eventually) running a 9sp chain singlespeed so chainline isn't super critical. Obviously if you're running a freehub rear wheel you can stick the cog wherever you want.

Thanks. Chainline was my thought, but I reckon using a MTB disk hub on a wide 700c rim will be good to try.

If you use a freehub like that I guess you'll be using splined cog and some spacers on the cassette? You can swap them around for whatever chainline suites your chainset.
You don't get a nice low q factor like track cranks, but most road doubles don't seem to be too bad.

What are the bars on this? They look wide and shallow, which is what I am looking for, I think.
Salsa Woodchippers.

I was planning on running it fixed, with a bolt on cog...
