Oh yet of little htfu. We uncancelled the ride and had a fine roll through the rain. Trafalgar sq, Parliament sq, Southbank, millennium br, St Pauls Starbucks. Cheers Almac for the amaretto in the coffee, cheers digger for the laughing, cheers everyone for an excellent start to the day.
Oh, looks like it's cleared up out there.

Saw loads of lightning and heard loads of thunder last night and thought "the ride will be cancelled fo' sho'" so slept in. When I woke up I looked out of the window and there was not a raindrop in sight. Thought I must have dreamt the weather. Apparently not, though. It's still pissing it down in Balham so god help me when I do go out to do my Festive 500 miles for today D:

I rolled through Oxford St at about 930, having started in Bermondsey, on my way home to Balham. I did wonder if anybody had turned up and kept a look out but only saw Boris bikers and the occasional lone cyclist. Despite the soaking and cold hands I enjoyed my version of the W&S ride, although I could have done without the puncture even if it did happen very close to home.
I suppose it's too much to hope that the rain will have stopped by the time I need to head out on my cat-feeding mission this evening?

Is there going to be an end point where the brave end up? I am determined to get out for a while at least.

Having just ridden from Peckham to Walthamstow, I wish I had the option of staying in. Unspeakably wet and cold and flooded roads no fun. Roads deffo quieter but those who were out still driving like c**ts.
Merry Blooming Christmas!

if W&S is like this every year, count me in. Nothing like a refreshing shower, cold wet gloves and socks, finest company. Haven't felt this alive since descending col d'miseran in 2010

Sounds awful poots! Even my water loving cats have decided to stay inside. They are looking at me as if they are waiting for me to do something entertaining for them.
Might go to the 3.15pm Festal Evensong at St. Paul's.

Well done the brave.. I'm assuming that the out of focus photo's were due to uncontrollable shaking due to the wet and the cold.
I spent a hour on the turbo doing 4 min overgeared reps with 30 second sprints at the top of the rep. If it's any consolation it induced a terrible bout of dry heaving and retching at the end.
Until next year then..

Twas fun. Good too meet some people of the internet (and live to speak about it). Didn't half give me an appetite for lunch though. And dinner, for that matter.
