Man that is fucked. What happened? such a shame...
£100 seems a reasonable offer in my eyes, certainly in-line with LFGSS classifieds ethos.

Such a shame... beautiful piece of work crippled, would sit perfect next to my ding'd concept 06...
Was the rider okay? Apart from broken hearted obviously.

Problem with this is if you repaired it and copied the paint ( not difficult) it wouldn't be original art. If I where you I'd forget the artist bit, get new tubes on it, put some interesting paint on it and sell it as a usable frame.

Well thats just it isnt it... first off all its just a colnago frame thats totally fucked and half will need replacing. and then theres the attached worth due to the artist which is fucked now and makes that side almost worthless if repainted!... basically what Si46^ just said!

TS is the only person to point out that it's not the Futura frame?

didn't read all the replys but I think that as a piece of art it has maintained its value but as a frame it's close to worthless. maybe worth the 6quid someone mentioned. If you repair it you'll ruin the original paint and then it gains value as repaired 'Nago, rideable, but loses it's value as a piece of art.
By selling it broken I think it will maintain higher value than repaired but to sell at what price I have no idea. Maybe use the original price and make your mind whether it was priced according to it's value as a piece of art or as a Colnago track frame..

Which LBS was it bought from?

Highest bidder hahaha

To be fair I'd actually buy this and replace the tubes. Would look like George's Vivalo did when he had the seat tube replaced and that shit looked sick.

Bit of elbow grease and it'll smooth out.
-
• #47
But is it art?
-
• #48
Father_Tu's recovering well by all accounts...
-

What is art and what is design? if it is art it's applied art (the decoration of an object) not fine art. In this case the whole is no longer as the artist intended - therefore no longer art, and no longer a usable frame - it is now as much art as a $10 note Britney Spears has snorted Devil's Dandruff through is a valid piece of music memorabilia .

So if I bought it as a boot sale for 50p (I didn't) I should sell it on for 50p? No..
Yes - the forum is not about makeing money off other forumungers. Unless you give the profits to the running of the mention forum
It's pretty clear you have a 'fair' price in mind. So all that's need is to state this otherwise as Howard said it'll be a sinking ship...
