• As for a training ride, I suggest we ride from London down to my place, it's about 190 miles on nice quiet roads from Richmond to my house (east Devon). We could possibly camp in the new forest, and if needs be camp somewhere in dorset the next day, or push it and do it in 2 days.

Upon arriving here, we can have bonfire beer and pizza in my new wood-fired oven, camp in the garden/field then train back the next day for you londoners.

  • Gabes, that sounds lovely. Can we come now?

Ideal. We should aim to do this on the first Bank Holiday in May. That'll give plenty of time to remedy any kit problems etc.

  • Out: Coach 3 Seat 16
    In: Coach 14 Seat 16

Change your seat! You should be able to click through on the Eurostar web-site "manage your booking", or just click through from the confirmation email.

Def in. I've done this ride a couple of times and it's a really nice ride on it's own, and, by my standards, is quite hilly (that is, once you're out of the home counties).

  • Sorted, Across the aisle from you bitches.

    Out: 3-82
    In: 2-82

  • Sooooooo want to come on this... Fuckers... It's gonna be awesome...

  • What's the deal with lids? Is there a law? I'd like to bring one, but I don't own one, so, unless there's a law, it's not guaranteed.

You won't want a helmet, but, last time I looked, it's still legal to ride in France without one.

  • Mais, ma tete!

    Cool.

  • Also, come up here for hilly training rides!

I would like to do this.

I would like to do this too.

    Ventoux and A d'H

    I intend to do these.

  • I drove up Mont Ventoux in Fall 2008. It was really hard, i had to keep pushing on the gas pedal the whole time.

No but seriously this trip looks totally amazing. Thinking about it.

  • Do it KEV!

  • Hi all. Really glad that they'll be an opportunity to meet everyone face to face rather than turning up at St P with a Carnation in my lapel (might wear one anyway).

    Outbound : Coach: 03 Seat: 81
    Inbound : Coach: 02 Seat: 81

Gabes, if you don't mind, I'd love to join the warm-up/ test ride too...

In the meantime, I'm based down in Kent (near T. Wells); if anyone finds themselves out in this direction in need of refreshment or someone to ride with, drop me a PM

  • Ok, So who's in for early May ride down to Devon from Richmond?

    1. Gabes
    2. Bill
    3. Mrak
    4. Cam
    5. Aufbruch
    6. Sammy Dodger

I want to keep it to 10 maximum. Just sayin'

  • Open to anyone?

If so I'd like to come along

  • Me too!

  • That's fine, but people who are coming on the trip get priority.

  • Of course, well if the trips numbers stay the same it'd be great to ride.

    Thanks
