I would honour every username that isn't:
1) Already taken
2) In violation of a law within the EU on the basis of race hate, discrimination, etc
3) In the RFC list for common email addresses ( http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2142.txt - postmaster, webmaster are in this list)
4) Used for domain verification purposes by common service suppliers (admin, administrator and ssladmin would be in this list - relates to email)In that case, I'll have to settle for admïn and hope people don't pay close attention.

is there a thread in which ideas for the new forum can be posted?

In response to What features would like to see implemented first, can I put a vote forward for some gallery function.
BTOB and the individual ride threads could benefit significantly from this... People are always struggling to get their images embedded correctly etc.
cheers.

I have emailed Seedrs to see if I can sell part of my holding to others who registered but missed the deadline.
The reply from Jeff Lynn says if I sell any shares in 3 years I'll lose the 50% tax relief.
Thanks very much for your note. You're very welcome to sell your shares to
other Seedrs members (or those who become members), but I'm afraid it
can't be done until after the investment has been made and the shares
issued. At that point we can help you facilitate it for no charge at all,
but unfortunately the new investors won't be able to claim SEIS relief,
and you will lose the benefit of SEIS relief on the shares you've sold
(because the HMRC withdraws relief if you dispose of your shares within
three years).I do appreciate that this creates a sub-ideal situation, and that it would
be preferable if the sale could happen before the shares are issued, but
the FSA is very restrictive on our ability to operate a "secondary
market". We persuaded them to permit us to register private sales of
shares once issued, but we can't facilitate trading in the period before
completion of the investment. -

Same as shares in my employer I buy through my employer.

• #1009
Well, I am not using SEIS, so if the price is right I may sell.

Feature request:
Some sort of "things/collections/garage" catalogue
As most forums (that I use) are based around some kind of item - bike, hifi, cameras, cars, coffee, watches for example, it would be great to have somewhere to catalogue them - useful for insurance/inspiration for others/reference.
Ideally with a history option - so when you amended it you still had a history of what you had before. The ability for this to be easily referenced within posts would be very handy - for example if you were wanting to sell something or wanted to discuss upgrades/opinions

Yeah, that's planned.
The taxonomy for it is doing my head in though which is why I've avoided trying to explain it.
At the top level you've got "Stuff I own" and at the bottom level you have "Components (and their specs)" and "Accessories".
But WTF is the thing between? Bikes, cameras, audio equipment, watches?
Most (not all) of this stuff can also be made from other stuff.
i.e. you might say that you own this bike, and this wheelset... but the bike is composed of components including the wheelset, just as a camera is the system that includes both camera body and lens.
And then, some components are made of components. A wheel, made of spokes, hub, rim, etc.
So in my mind I have a collection of stuff I own, and this collection of things is composed of lesser parts which may also be composed of lesser parts (ad infinitum).
But putting that into consistent and widely understood language is hard.
There's loads of advantages to this though:
1) Product/component reviews
2) Provenance of items over time (even helps anti-theft and insurance claims)
3) Auto-create sales adverts from the owner details
4) Galleries associated to products/components
5) Improved search ("find me other bikes that use these cranks")Lots of advantages... very hard concept to communicate.
It's on the list, but behind a lot of core functionality

Peter V is right. This thread is really about investment and basic business proposals.
Operational improvements, desires, wish-lists should be elsewhere. One of the reasons for investment was to trust those who responsible

Oh I can represent it in a computer... it's trying to explain it to humans and presenting it as a UI that it starts to become a harder problem.

Indeed - as evidenced in my trying to describe it in my post above....

Introverts don't do parties.
Failed the seedr questionnaire. In a rush.
Not going to get rich.
Dies unhappy and poor.
Forever alone.
