so you told her about the gentlemen's club we visited in oxford?
"well, hello..."

So my wife storms up the stairs with her best "I found a stash of pr0n" tone in her voice, and says "what the f**k is this you wierdo!!!!?"
and she's got my bow tie headband in her a hand and a "you better talk quick" look on her face.
Outstanding. What did you say? "It's obviously not what you think. I found it on a fencepost, thought it was pretty so I wore it for 60 miles to Oxford, the train home and just happened to place it on the sideboard, you know the one with the lit candles and that photograph of Taylor Swift"

Oh, YAL, are you good to do one of your exquisite write ups of the Saturday adventure?

Don't worry she'll get over it after the first few times you ask her to wear it.

This was a great ride, definitely up for it again. If there are even 6 fewer p*nctures this year it'll be a win.

I was thinking about this ride too, having bailed last year (or at least slept in, ridden to Marlow, then given up). Cambridge ride is on the 16th this year. Varsity double header?

Wow, that was spookey, was thinking of this the other day, as the autumnal leaves started to fall.
Would there be any interest in a weekend "there and back" with a cheapie Premier Inn overnight? I am sure we could be trusted not to get totally blasted, and be up at 6am for the ride home on Sunday...
I am just thinking the return rail journey inevitably turns into a pitched battle with the train company and a 150 mile round trip would be a great way to finish off a wonderful year of cycling.

Excellent. How about 9/10 November?
-
• #162
As it happens, I'm due to join my dad from an MTB jaunt to Oxenfoord on the 9th. I can think of nothing more pleasant than joining up with you gents for a return leg on the Sunday.
Tim - if someone did only fancy a one-way trip on the Saturday... tandem tag team?

9/10 could work well - will consult diary gods

Thanks for asking. Was a broken bone, been off it for two days, and miracle cure has been announced.
Real shame you cannot make it mister, would be lovely to have you along if your plans change.
So, people, we seem to have a consensus for the 9/10. Please consult the higher beings, and confirm tomorrow that you are good to go?
I will do a bit of homework on cheapie hotels.

Bernie, are you really back on your bike? Don't make me come round and confiscate your bikes, you're meant to be resting!!

Will be our pleasure. I will tag a few well known meeting points, along the route.
The phone reception around Chistmas Common can be extremely patchy, but I will add the markers to the mix when the date has been confirmed.

Oh my, it's not a drain rod.
Just keep your trousers on and say "please, Supreme Commander, guardian of the Universe, can I go out to play with my chums?"
