• #6
Absolutely love that!

Thanks both!
I know us modern-connected-information-fiends are on the constant hunt for facts and data so I emailed VWEM, PV and WBV* with as many details as I know in the hope for more background info!
Till they reply, or I receive the frame and take some better pictures, I'm afraid this may be a bit of a dead thread!
*is how I'm referring to Vlaams Wielercentrum Eddy Merckx, Plum Vainqueur and Wielerbond Vlaanderen from now on to avoid spelling mistakes :)

Pierre from Plum (pierreplum@skynet.be) got back to me this morning asking if the bb was 36x24 of 1.370’’x24tpi, to which I replied I assume the latter (English threads) but can't be sure. Sent him the pics of fork crown and lugs as well. Let's see!
Anyone know of any other small framebuilders in the Ghent ares?

A Plum! Since a friend of mine has one which is very similar and since Plum was a respected local builder from Gent (not Genk ;)

Saddle is actually not a Cinelli. It's an Arius Gran Carrera Special (Spanish)

tl;dr: bike is finished, see here: http://www.pedalroom.com/bike/plum-vainqueur-team-wbv-8103
Currently waiting for this frame + parts to arrive by courier from Germany.
Allow me to post a thread for this as I'm doing my research and this seems like a good place to collect/store thoughts and hopefully get advice and tips. Please correct me if any of the following is not correct!
It was sold as an 'unknown track frame' that was raced in Vlaams Wielercentrum Eddy Merckx (Flemish Cycling Centre Eddy Merckx), and built by a local frame builder in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghent. It is a custom build by Plum Vainqueur in Ghent for Wielerbond Vlaanderen (WBV).
They tend to use Nervex lugs and Campagnolo fork dropouts/track ends but I'm not sure for now what the frame is made of or more details other than size.
Size: 65cm c-t (63cm c-c) seattube and comes with the following parts:
Campagnolo 1051 Record Pista Crankset, (parts 757/758) 165mm, 151 bcd
Campagnolo 760 Record Pista Chainring, 52t, 151 bcd
Campagnolo 756 Dustcaps
Campagnolo 761/761 Chainring bolts
Campagnolo 1046 Record Pista bottom bracket, 109mm
Campagnolo 1044 Nuovo Record seatpost 27.2mm
2x 3TTT Record stem
Stronglight 1" A9 needle bearing threaded headset
Arius Gran Carrera Special saddle (Spanish)
42cm Cinelli Criterium bars
Seller is also sending me the pictured risers + some other parts bin stuff...all unknown for now.
Lovely as it is, I passed on the wheelset (Ofmega track hubs laced to Campagnolo Moskva/Omega clinchers) to keep cost down.
Bike seems to be in top condition from the seller's pictures (some road muck but no dents, chips or dings), and according to him he rode it like 5 times and before it had only been used on the aforementioned indoor track.
Here's some seller pictures (not my builds):
More pictures in this Flickr set. Any help identifying the frame and/or corrections on my parts-identification effort most welcome!
You can expect me to build this up as a HHSB, then realise I'm being silly and try and go all period correct and take it down to Herne Hill...or something along those lines.
Anyway, hurry the f... up couriers!
