I think I just ordered something very similar! I like it

Very nice, other options? Are those the new dropouts? When did you ordered it? Any issues with BB?
How much did it cost?
-
• #5007
new dropouts, i've waited six weeks since placing order. odd thing with bb thread: i've tried two brackets, used shimano un71 and used protype taiwan sth which was stucked about 5mm before fully assembled (drive side only). no problem with shimano though.

I too would like to read this

After exactly 8 weeks, I have received my order of 4 frames.
I've insisted on packaging and this is how the package came, more than happy with the packaging.
Gonna inspect them up close this evening, plus test fitting the forks and bottom brackets, as that's where there were issues in the past.

Hello there,
So i am soon in need of a new bike, and have been looking at theese frames fo7r a while.
What would be the cheapest "beater" build to come up with?
Would like to go with press-fit(GXP?) style bottom bracket, and would like to use the least possible tools, since well... i would have to purchase them.
Best regards

GXP - not press fit :)
-
• #5012
ah thanks, but yeah im going for GXP, just seems a lot easier to fit/change out, btw does the mielec bikes come with the proper measurements for that standard or do we have to specify it?
-
• #5013
BSA is the standard - and BSA takes GXP :).

Thanks!

it's a custom so you'll say the geo, he makes it roughly like it should be. Roughly because there has been few issues where the measurements haven't been what ordered. Also if you wanna go cheap, just buy a dolan precursa frameset...

Yeah the more i look at it the better it looks to buy the dolan pre cursa, Just wondering how "annoying" those high flange rims are to change tires on, the ones i had was a fucking annoyance to change tires on, was super hard to get the tires off

Tyre issue rather than a rims issue. The more you do it the easier they become. Or stretch them. YouTube will have videos.

Might give it a go

Is there affordable steel frame comparable with dolan pre cursa out there?
-

On-One Pompino would be my best bet.

I am looking for a fixed gear winter bike built to a similar geometry to my summer carbon race bike but more tyre+mudguard clearance. Would a Mielec be a good option? Are the frames nice to ride, comfortable, last a long time, etc...?
A little worried about playing around with custom geometry without really knowing what I am doing.

Probably not.

Own a Mielec for a few years now, looking to upgrade, so:

Haven't done anything stupid with it though.fyi: I own a fixed gear with carbon cross forks. serves as all year bike, have commuted on it lots. Now I want some steel, because it's way more comfortable.
