    Longer stem can´t fix that?

to an extent, but 140mm was still a bit sort for me.

  • And also: I've seen in the pink frames some kind of "effect" (in Spanish, we call it "metallic effect"). Is that actually an option for the paintjobs? I asked for a glossy white frame but I was told no glossy paintjobs were done.

I got "sparkle" on mine, which was raw with a clearcoat. So yeah you can get the metallic effect.

All of you guys who already bought a Mielec, if you could go back and change what you ordered, what would you have changed?

As Rusty says, definitely the drop outs. Might also have gone for the triangular tubing, though that aside, happy with everything else.

  • Triangle tubes and new dropouts, but I'm more than happy without.

  • And maybe pay someone less lazy than me to polish it.

  • But it's already Polish.

  • Not Polish, polish.

  • Did you go for smooth welds?

When you've finished talking to yourself that is?

  • Yeah, nice and smooth, would look nice smooth and polished.

  • Thought its already Polish?

  • Polished, you daft sod.

  • I'd have gone for a zestier colour perhaps and I definitely wouldn't have paid for a clear coat I never got. But other than that I'm really happy with mine, gets ridden every day pretty much and rides great.

  • Stop the wax lyrical about Mielec.

  • Should have tweaked the geo to lower the seatcluster.

Maybe some Rack&Guard eyes too, but £95 for the basics was too tempting.

  • Do you know the specs of the bottom bracket that I need to buy? I ordered the frame but I forgot to ask that to Robert!

    68 mm BSA!!

  • Thank you butchers dog!!! I meant the spindle length. I've read many stuff about it but I am in a mess.

The crankset I bought is the FSA Gimondi (you can see it in this link) http://www.velosolo.co.uk/gimondi.html

And I think the spindle lenght for a triple triangle frame in L size should be 107mm

    But not sure at all!!

Thank you for your help. I owe some beers here already :)

That chain set will fit right on.

the frame type or size has nothing to do with spindle length.
spindle length only depends on chainline, ie. rear hub and crankset.
search for 'transmission database' on here and see if someone else is running same hub/crank combination.

  • Thank you both! I checked transmission database in advance and didn't found anything related to a related to this specific frame, nor to Mielec ones (one post without answer)

I've read in the webpage of FSA and it recommends the 110.5 mm bottom bracket. I guess I will wait to have everything together and then decide what cog am I going to use (my city in Spain have several uphills and this fact is kind of tricky to use the bike in fixed gear mode)

    Thank you! :)

This isn't even the right thread but w/e...FSA recommends the 110.5mm bb but with that you'll get 45mm chainline, so with 107mm bb you'll get like 43-44 and with 103mm you'll get close to 42mm.

  • Here is mine with Columbus Tusk Air. Smoothies, IHS, custom geo, RAL3004 i seem to remember and 258 euros posted. No dents, dings nor dongs. Measures seem to be correct too (quick measuring). I also think these new dropouts are the new standard, which of course, is a def plus. Weights 1923 grams if anyone cares.

Looks like the old dropouts welded better. I think they have improved there joining from stays to track ends which is the main plus.

  • If only they used tapered chainstays...

  • When I asked ages ago, they will, but it will cost extra.
