  • probably would be best to use his own mother tongue though if it were possible, as if he fucks up orders he might not understand - just a thought

  • I have been talking to him for a week in English. It is really not a problem, he'll his website is in english

  • got a response from him too. probably going to order next week.
195Euro plus 30Euro shipping to Germany.

  • €300 + fork + headset + headache for a Mehlec made from low quality alu, or £499 for a brand new Condor Lavoro with fork and headset and face to face customer service...

Bit of a jump in budget, I know which I'd go for though every day of da week.

  • If people here where practical they would not be buying brake less track bikes to ride on the street. Shits for fun, get weird. Also not allot of alloy frames these days for threaded forks. It's a nice option.

  • he speaks english...

Although my only interaction with Mielec has been via the group order, I believe that was either organised by, or organised with assistance from, a native Polish speaker.

Considering the Polish nation is well-represented within London, if you a want anything other than the standard offerings listed on his website, I would strongly advise you to find a Polish friend who can handle the comms for you, in exchange for beer tokens. It would be preferable if the Polish friend was into bikes and had a vague understanding of bike geometry.

If everything goes smoothly, it will have only cost you beer tokens. If any misunderstanding arises, not having to traverse a language barrier should help avoid having that misunderstanding leading to an incorrect product.

  • well, a lot of the german guys ordered a mielec and i can't remember anything went wrong.

Polish businesses are afraid of the Germans, they've got a history of hostile takeovers

  • His English is perfectly fine - I had a fair bit of back & forth with him & whilst I could tell it wasn't his first language, it was perfectly understandable and obvious that he knew what I wanted (it was not a standard Mash copy). As far as I've seen on here his most common mistake was the incorrect colour which is a number anyway.

  • yeah working with him in english has been no problem.

you are so angry and unreasonable in this thread it actually makes me laugh

  • ...Just horrified by some of the stuff that's come out on this thread.

2nd hand mash or numerous other alu framesets second hand/new <£400

You know better than me though, you owned one for about 72 hours.

  • still save £250 and get a frame with the same geo in any colour you want, or spend a little bit more and get totally custom geo.

yeah i got bored of mine but it was still pretty awesome for £120 all in. i really just dont get the hate, like yeah a couple have been fuck ups but that is a small minority...

  • Main thing wrong with my £95 Mashski is the size, and that was my choice.

  • Guess I've just seen an above average number of issues, sizing, geo, colour, damage in transport due to inadequate packaging. Not like it's easy to return stuff in the case of a problem so people end up with stuff they're not 100% on.

What can I say, I like the simple life. Think you had advantage as well with having 1ka negotiate?

  • guys if got any trouble with your order at mielec pm me i speak polish fluent so i can get in touch with Robert.

  • Speak to Robert in English or polish he's still not all too helpful.

  • Even if the chap has got a few orders wrong, the ones he has got right are actually amazing and i think nobody can deny that.

  • Not exactly amazing just decent frames for the money.

  • It would be advisable for him to employ someone to manage orders and customer relations so he can manage the production process. Student placement?

  • £180-250 for a fully custom frame is pretty amazing to me.

  • If that's what you get, it's not unheard of for people to wait 3 months for a mielec, my mate kamal did just that and he only ordered standard Mash geo with triple tri and triangular tubing.

  • It would be advisable for him to employ someone to manage orders and customer relations so he can manage the production process. Student placement?

Definitely this, they could really own a market with better admin.

  • £180-250 for a fully custom frame is pretty amazing to me.

sure, but most of the orders are only copies and this has nothing to do with ordering a custom frame

  • £180-250 for a fully custom frame is pretty amazing to me.

I know a local builder who will build you an (actual custom) frame and fork in 853 for +/-£400
