Is the velodrome even open?
Jut read some news (late 2011) about the "perfeitura" of Caieiras shutting the place down... ?Yeah it's open. The town that it is located is 40Km from São Paulo (kinda like London) and the velodrome doesn't get much use so the mayor pushed to tear it down but us cyclist made our voices heard and it stayed open, god knows till when :-/

These guys are owners of a bike shop here in São Paulo but they only go there like once every two months to play around...

Good to know.
My flatmate is from São Paulo, he's going back soon and has invited me to come and spend some time.
Sounds (even more) appealing. If it comes true, hit me up, I go there every weekend. I'll be glad to show the bike culture of São Paulo :)

To correct it, it's in Caieiras, Brazil. It's a small town on the outskirts of São Paulo, 40Km of it to be exact. Thursday at the track was marking 34°C and it was dry.
It's not like Herne Hill because it has 250m and 45° bankings so it's steeper and shorter.
