Someone (a friend of my dad's, weirdly) once said to me "head down, chin up" when I was going through a particularly difficult time, and it sank it and stuck with me. I like it - direct and positive.
I also like "eight to work, eight hours to play, eight hours to rest", which I think comes from an old miner's song. I like thinking about the day like that, and how each of the three is given equal weighting.
Good thread by the way, it's just a shame it's full of the usual unfunny bullshit!
