Looking forward to this. Not yet done Swains, should be interesting.

Getting my excuses in early: I may not be able to stay for the whole thing as I'm training as a secondary school teacher and start my first placement this week, with a very large workload. Seriously, it's huge.
Any thoughts on who were your favourite teachers when you were at school, and why, will be gratefully received, as well as memories of language-learning at secondary school.

I wouldn't get too excited about Swains now - we'll agree on the various destinations at the pub, and that'll determine which bits of town we make it to.

^^ Madame Harding - who showed us La Haine, and then got upset when we started swearing in French. She did still teach us the lyrics to Je ne regrette rien, though.

Senora Williams - We decided she looked like a Spanish Tina Turner and used to sing 'Your Simply the Best' to her. She used to hit us round the head and swear at us, as she wasn't fully signed up to English teaching methods. I am quite good at swearing in Spanish, though- gracias Mrs Williams!

My Russian teacher never taught us any swear words - lost interest quite quickly.

Mr Craig. Great trousers and said "Gazungas!" a lot. I'm easily entertained.

We were also shown La Haine and enjoyed the swearing.

none of my favourites were language teachers..
Miss Gorman, pottery teacher. used to wear gold lame hotpants, and showed us the batwing jumper she knitted while she was away on jury service. all the first years were terrified of her but she had a great sense of humour (which seemed very rare), and didn't talk down to you (which also seemed rare).

I won't get to the pub till about 19:00, don't leave without me please :c

So I have just discovered that I have to go to Telford for work tomorrow. I know.

Anyway, I am going to try my hardest to be there for just before 7.30 - to echo Shinkuu's call - please don't go without me.

Aslo - I will bring stickers, but can someone pick up one of the central London cycling maps like we used last time?

And it is worth thinking now about whether there are any tags people are desperate to revist.

Indeed. Unfortunately I've been before, so I know exactly what to expect. And I'm from Birmingham, so it's not like I have high expecations of anywhere, really.
