Isn't a crack like this an installation issue anyway?
Did the buyer replace the headset? -

No I havent done anything other than put the wheels on and the cranks.

I think given the situation Stya and the seller should go halves on the cost of repair if the seller won't give a refund.
Stya should have looked closer, seller shouldn't have sold damaged goods as vgc....Hope it gets resovled amicably, tis a small world after all.

Just noticed sellers pics are from a completely different angle to buyers and wouldn't show the crack if it was there.
Plot thickens. Good luck kids x -

I have already suggested he refunds me a small amount to aid in the cost of the repair but he wasn't prepared to do that :/

Go hammer on his door and speak to his mother.

its not the fact I dont want to help you out its the fact there is no crack on the photo ive posted regardless of the angle you would see it, you can see scratches on the paint im sure that a crack that size would be visable. Until its proven that I sold that frame with a crack and that it didnt happen in your possession then I'm not willing to part with any money. I said this to stya earlier that I checked over and over for structural damage before posting the frame for sale and why would I attempt to sell a damaged frame from my own door step?

sold and within 26 hours got a reply about a cracked headtube and wanting money back
pictures are below so people can decide for themselves who's problem it isIt's the buyer who has the problem of a mildly/moderately damaged frame.
It's the seller who has the problem of a badly damaged reputation. They BOTH have problems here...

Surely the seller's photo resolves nothing unless he can prove it was taken about a minute before the frame was sold. Otherwise the crack could have developed in between the photo being taken and the frame being sold...

If your reputation as a seller/human being is worth anything you'd refund the buyer their money unless you can prove they caused the damage.
Your rep is already uncatagorized, good luck buying/selling on here again. -

I don't think his rep on here matters to him, but oop norf us fixie skidders are a tight bunch, I'll leave it at that.

25th of August I believe it was taken....

^^^
I'd be scared of bumping into Luci and TM unexpectedly if I'd just unloaded some suspect goods. Whip-skid to the face and something cruelly inventive from the General? Failing that just drop him on a ride when he doesn't know the way home.
Lady Liz is from the 'shire as well, and I know not to mess her around so wouldn't want to offend the whole county(well, that part of it that skads around). -

You can see how the angle of the photo makes a massive difference on these pictures - not that they will make a difference to what happens it seems

Wow, says it all really!
Buyer beware etc. -

Having read all this I get a strong feeling you've been screwed over Jake. I agree with Tom. A trip in the pipe line I reckon...

the seller has sent me 50% of the quote for a frame repair. I am appreciative of this and would like to say he was exceptionally apologetic and admitted to selling the frame with a strong chance of already been cracked but was unaware. I believe his words and the money has already been eChequed to me so hopefully his reputation will be rebuilt from now on

I sold one the other week with the same damage for what I thought was a fair price, £80...
What are the chances of potatoes being chopped here?
